Most commentators would agree that he is the most naturally gifted player the game has ever produced, and on his day he is electric to watch. At other times he is bewildering and can struggle to find his form or even - as famously happened once against Hendry - decide that he doesn't want to play at all and walk off!
Hendry dominated the game for many years, but time catches up with everyone and he has faded over the last few seasons. He was viewed as a rank outsider before the tournament started, but has unexpectedly found form. He is one of the few players who, when playing at the top of his game, can compete with O'Sullivan at his best.
This promises to be a fascinating match between two of the sport's biggest names, but O'Sullivan should have the edge to end Hendry's indian summer.
