I'm pretty much an all-round sports freak, though not really into golf or boxing. Brought up on Football and Cricket and have followed both all my life, and have also developed a very keen interest in Tennis and Athletics. Nottingham Forest fan, and am worried that I'm now getting to the stage where I consider prefixing that with 'long-suffering', which definitely hasn't been the case for most of my supporting career. I was too young for the real glory years but I still saw plenty of the Clough era, which included 6 trips to Wembley between 1989 and 1992. Happy days indeed. I'm also a big follower of the England cricket team, with all it's ups and downs. It may sound a touch perverse, but one of my favourite things in sport is getting up in the middle of the night during freezing cold winters to watch coverage of England playing on tour in some far flung haven of warmth. If I could change one thing about sport in the UK, it would be to raise the profile of Tennis. When I think of the amount of terrestrial TV and Radio airtime given to low-profile events in Football, Rugby, Golf and Motorsports it angers me greatly that only Wimbledon, and Wimbledon warm up tournaments are covered on non-satellite TV here.
