The Jordanian National Basketball Team will have a good chance of serious preparations for FIBA Asia Championship, which are in Japan from July 28 to August 5, when they take part in William Jones Cup, which will be held in Taiwan at the Sinjhuang Stadium, Taipei County.

It will be the 29th edition of the Jones Cup, Asia's premier international tournament held annually, and it will be Jordan's first attempt to win it. Other countries competing in the tournament include Taiwan, Qatar, Lebanon, Iran, Japan, Korea, Kazakhstan, Philippines and the extremely interesting Athletes in Acion (AIA) team.

This team comprises 10 players representing eight American NCAA Division I universities. All of the major national teams will be sending their senior men's squad as they consider this is part of the build-up for their Olympic qualifying tournament (which is the FIBA Asia Championship) three weeks later.

Jordan will have their strongest team out for the Jones Cup, including the country's star player, Sam Daghlas, the US-Jordanian point guard from the Fastlink club. Jordan NT's games schedule in the tournament, which runs from July 2 to July 10 is:

July 2 - Kazakhstan v Jordan. July 3 - Jordan v Korea. July 4 - Taiwan v Jordan. July 5 - Jordan v AIA. July 6 -  Philippines v Jordan. July 7 - Lebanon- v Jordan. July 8 - Jordan v Qatar. July 9 - Jordan v Iran. July 10 - Jordan v Japan.
