After their win in Belgium over Dexia, Kosit 2013 Kosice were hoping for big things when they faced Gambrinus Sika Brno, Euroleague champions from two years ago.

The Czech team are well known to the fans in Kosice because of the closeness of the two countries. It was also possible that this was the last home game of the season for Kosit. After the amazing atmosphere created by the crowd in the game against Spartak, the arena was once again packed.

The game started well for both of the teams, but as it progressed shooting percentages for both of the teams went down and Brno held a 16-15 lead after 10 minutes.

Both coaches were having a hard time finding their best five combination, especially Kosice’s coach who made a lot of substitutions. Despite that, Brno managed to stretch out a nine-point lead 52-43 by the end of the first half with McCarville scoring 17 for Kosit and Machova 10 for Gambrinus.

Kosice started the second half much better and within four minutes had trimmed Brno"s lead to one point. But the visitors responded by extending their lead to nine points again and went on to control the game helped, it has to be said, by several mistakes by the home side.

Brno finished 78-60 winners and not even McCarville’s 23 and Jalcova’s 16 points were enough. Brno's best shooters were Machova with 16 and Whitmore with 15.
