Pakistan are in an excellent position to end their 13 match losing streak against Australia in the second test at Headingley.

Ricky Ponting’s men won the toss and elected to bat but were dismissed for just 88 to post their seventh lowest test first innings total- Australia’s lowest for almost 50 years – and the lowest total posted by any test team that has won the toss and batted first.
The damage was largely done by Mohammad Aamer and Mohammad Asif who took 3 wickets apiece with Umar Gul snaring 2 victims and Umar Amin claiming the wicket of Marcus North.
Tim Paine was the highest run scorer with a total of 17 and the Australian bowlers have much work to do to help their team avoid their first defeat against Pakistan for 15 years.
Pakistan have begun their first innings well though with Salman Butt leading from the front in his first test match as captain following the resignation of previous incumbent Shahid Afridi.
At the time of writing, Pakistan are 39 for no loss from eight overs.
