you should show the score also.

Another insightful article that Speed and cohorts are bound to ignore. The sooner these vultures go the better. Money for growth of the game is fine but Speed and friends have taken it as personal fiefdoms. Good one Craig

When it was raining and getting dark they should have stopped the match and started at a different venue afresh on another day.

Even though too long the finish is horrible. Should play such an important final extra day at least the weather condition not ok.Every one was waiting for the such a grand final, spoiled by the ICC. How can you improve cricket in the world.

You couldn't be more right Craig, Speed and his cronies just have to go if the game is going to regain its reputation - In Antigua the ICC, Cricket Logistics and Chris Dearing told businesses to gear up for an influx of 35k cricket supporters who were coming to take over their beautiful island during the WC. The banks and private financiers offered people loans to renovate, refurbish and extend their homes to cope with the expected shortfall in hotel rooms. Home-Stays were the talk of the town before the WC, but not even 20% of the estimated number of fans came to stay and now the poor home owners are in debt and also in danger of loosing their homes to the lenders - An easy pre-planned method of acquiring property for some in Antigua - Suicide looms for many...Speedoff you horrible greedy lot who benefit from the hardships of others!

I couldn’t have agreed more with the writer! A shame and a time for serious change! A council that does not understand the meaning of the game has done permanent damage to last many decades. The sterling world cup performance by Sri Lanka had in some respect lighted up the world cup with its true passion and charismatic approach on and off the field. However the much look forward final was a disgrace and anti-climax as spectators were expecting 100overs to be bowled not 76. The rules clearly indicate that an extra day is allocated for such unforeseen weather conditions. However the hegemony of the ICC was not up to Speed and let things slip into total disrepute not only to the office but the game alike. Additionally Sri Lanka was subject to humiliation due to the preposterous interpretation of the rules. This is not acceptable for the so called professionals! It is time that the world cricketing nations make sweeping changes at the helm if they intend to bring life back into cricket, in a similar

Unfortunately the ICC is concerned more about their revenue than anything else. The whole tournament being a disappointment would be an understatement! Not to mention the incompetance of the ludicrous cricket officials in the final. One must ask, what is the purpose of a reserve day if it's not going to be used? Also, with the WCC Tournament being such a high profile event, yet the final was played at a stadium without floodlights. It's high time Malcolm Speed and his goons were bowled out!

I do agree with the content of this article. ICC has clearly demonstrated it's bureaucracy. We feel confident and influential if India do come forward and rescue the game from those bureaucratic giants

After about 2 hours of rain, they did announce us to hold on to our tickets becasue the match may be played on the reserve day. However more rain fell, the first announcment seemed to have been forgotten. On top of that, people who were moving covers were actually shook the water off the covers to the pitch. Fans desreved to see a 50 over match not a total confusion. Australia deserved an opposition worthy of them after the South Africa semi finals. Srilankans deserved a chance to play their best assests on a pitch not in a pond. We would have happily made arrangements for the next day if necessary to watch. I saw in a Barbados newspaper that it was their National Hero's day and Sir Garfield was going to be at the match and how appropriate that they would play the final that day etc. I wonder............

ICC BEFORE STARTING THE WORLD CUP TOURNAMENT ANNOUNCED SEMI FINALS & FINALS WILL GO TO 2ND DAY IF RAIN COMES TO A ISSUE.WHY DID'NT THE FINALS GO INTO 2ND DAY ALSO WHY DID'NT THEY GO OFF THE FIELD ON 17TH OVER WHEN IT STARTED TO RAIN & COMPLETE THE GAME NEXT DAY. SRILANKANS DID NOT HAVE THE SAME PLAYING CONDITIONS AS AUSTRALIA.THE BATTING TURF WAS EXPOSED TO RAIN AND THE BALL WAS KEEPING VERY LOW AND THATS WHY EVEN JAYASOORIYA GOT OUT.IT ALL STARTED AFTER THE RAIN ICC.SHAME ON YOU MR.SPEED AND THE UMPIRES.

Two puppets became ICC presidents, Mani and Sonn, so bizarrely, the paid employee(tax free $672,000 per annum), CEO Speed, began to tell his boss, who the real boss is. It was when anarchy set in. The 3rd test disqualification between Ind and SA, Champions trophy 2002 and WC 2003 nearly got derailed because of unfair contract clauses against players, improper handling of Zim issue, the Oval test fiasco(repeatedly posting Hair to Pak games by Speed, it was a disaster waiting to happen), ban of Darrell Hair, and finally, to cap it all, ICC CWC 2007- a death, boring and restrictive(Can't even carry a can of Coke- you will be thrown out by branding police)too long so that the mainly Indian sponsors can showcase their products when the rivals are restricted, and the farce final, when Speed's cronies failed to understand the rules, it is unimaginable it was down to one man, Speed and he is just the paid employee. The Aussies are ruthless, Speed was their CEO, when few eye brows were raised, they made sure he wo
