Got to agree with you Greigh. Those people could not arrange a piss-up in a brewery. I sat there for over 2 hours in the rain and got wet again several times, having chartered a plane with a few others from St Lucia, we were due to leave Barbados at 7 p.m. When they were getting ready to do the presentation, we left, not knowing that the match wasn't over. I didn't even know how many runs Sri-Lanka lost by until I got back. After Sri-Lanka beat New Zealand, we tired to get tickets for the finals. Despite the fact that there was an announcement at the South Africa - Australia semi finals that tickest were avilable, they closed the ticket counter before people could come out of the ground. I called Cricket St Lucia 6 times to find info on tickets, they hung up on me each time. It wasn't the most user friendly system for buying tickets. Before Srilanka went into bat, we had the news about the terrorist attack in Colombo, so Mahela probably wanted to finish it on Saturday anyway.There was heavey rain predicted t

Cricket progressing to the big stage is already in the works. There is a list of want to haves which I personally think is the right way to go. A plan that involves the two most populous nations in the world with the incumbent nations will be a a sport to truly match only three other common sports that can be considered 'World based' being soccer, tennis and golf. As much as anyone wants to differ, these three are way beyond the rest for whatever reason. When we combine the subcontinent with India, China and the current aspirants, the total audience is already above half of the world's polpulation. The beauty of cricket is that guile and ability is just as important as physical prowess. The game can accomodate someone shorter than average height and build just as much as someone the size of Joel Garner. It contains equalisers which similarly appear in all world sports simply because it is inclusive. The issue here is the type of person that is taking us to that next stage and beyond.
