The Australians came to India with a clear strategy. If toss is won, bat right from the start ramping up the run rate, get to near or above 300. Then take quick wickets when India bats. That puts pressure on the team, especially when playing on their home ground, where they are supposed to be better adapted. That the Australians had read the Indian atmosphere well and were fully prepared for it must have shocked the Indian team. And Australians are good at capitalizing on any psychological pressures. This strategy will be tried by other teams who visit India in the future. Pakistan will have a different strategy. They do have an excellent bowling line up and they will try to deny runs during the slog overs. They will rely on Younis Khan, Misbah, Afridi, Imran Nazir and Mohammad Yusuf to do what the Australians did. Having good and accurate fast bowlers really helps on such situations. India will have to play Pakistan, the way they played England in England. Stay together and chip in runs. No one goes for the
