Those who perform should play the game. Sourav Ganguly is palying well and adding a great value to team .People in India are crazy about cricket and they have their own freedom to express their opinion. But there is at least 3-4 years cricket remaining in Ganguly hence he should continue.

Dear Rohit......I agree to your views on Sourav's retirement. But I would suggest that not only Sourav, all the Indian players on the verge of calling it a day should follow the Aussie way of retitiring. That is, to hang up one's boots when one is playing at his best. When he announces his retirement he will earn the respect of everybody. For Sourav I this is an ideal time to call it aday.

I can understand ur point.. But i cant understand two points of U.. 1.Ganguly is the only player whom Yuvraj can replace[Y not Laxman,Karthik?] 2.Yuvi adds more utility to d team.. Fine.. But where did Sourav offer less utility comparing to Laxman.. He is the only genuine medium fast bowler in the part-timers.. So he gives variety.. When u goto Australia, u can hav as fifth bowler.. I don find any reason Y Dada shd retire now..

Yuvraj Singh Should play in replace of D karthik and move Ganguly as the opener with Jaffer and Yuvi in Ganguly's middle order slot. D karthik cannot handle bowlers like Shoiab Akthar, Umur Gul and when going to Australia tour he definately wont be able to handle people like Brett Lee and Mitchel Johnson, Teams have fear from players like Yuvraj singh Not Karthik. He should only be used as a sub

is a much much much better batsman than ganguly and he wins test matches (ganguly has not won any in the last decade)...karthik yes, can go- ganguly can open and yuvi will be there...simply put ganguly is getting just good thirties and not cents...he is at top now, people are talking aout him positively - this is the best tiem for him to quit - since tendlya is GOD (????) and no one dares ask him to quit

karthick is not targeted because he has been one opener who has consistently performed and can be looked for a future face. i am not asking ganguly to retire on form value but am saying that i dont want him to go out disgraced bcoz am kyself a big fan of his. i hope u r getting my point.

The three greats of Indian cricket should all retire together. The media and people of India talk of them as bitter rivals, but Im sure they are good friends in life. Who can forget tendulkar eating fish at ganguly's house on the front page...and ganguly backing dravid during the laters ODI crisis. There should be a World XI vs India XI tribute game for them when they retire. Its time to begin building for the next world cup.

If it's a blog, I can understand you are an amateur writer, but it's a webcast and a little bit cohesiveness in the writing would do a lot good; in terms of content. The logic why Ganguly should be left out, although you mentioned that he's been playing well; is clearly missing. You gotta fill that gap to make your writing readable, or rather believable.

This is by far a pretty one sided and extremely poorly thought out piece of article. why ganguly should retire when he is playing well. He performed better than everyone in England, South Africa against good attacks. Why to accomodate Yuvraj one should have ganguly dropped. There is no logic behind this. Yuvraj has to buy his time, wait for the right moment.

he will never retire he's a fighter.even though should retire at-lest 2 yrs from now.even after he retires he'll remain a legend.and his spirit will never die in test cricket. just like sachin's 100's test cricket souravs great captaincy and his all round performance is remarkable & appriciated everywhare and should be.

some of the ppl over here call my writings as blog, illogic and what not but when i made my point i was very clear that a player should retire with his head held high and especially a player like ganguly whos alwaz been a tiger on the field.once it has apened with him that he has been shown doors with disgrace, though i said and wrote that our men valiantly fought back the same might not happen again and hence if we follow the australian model though i alwaz dont recommend it this is gr8 time for him to call it a day. i hope ppl undersatnd the logic and dont simply put comments bcoz they have to. i quote a famous line which says being critical is the habit of genetically modified animals, human beings generally dont criticise without proper reasoning.

we cant advice anyone to retire bcos every player knows their talent and their time o retire. sachin, wen answering a rumor abt his retirement said that he stil believes he could play. its the same for every one. they know wen to retire. y shouldn't saurav be in good form till he is 38?

sourav ganguly should play for team india and he should lead the team.Inorder to get back the real josh of team
by Anthony on November 28, 2007
Ganguly is a pathetic sight on the field. His 'outstanding' performances include an average of 20 odd in the recent ODI series and int he test series as well. he needs to be booted out.

Yuvraj Singh Should play in replace of Karthik and move Dravid as the opener . Or Drop Dravid and karthik and replace YUVI and Pathan.. this is the best solution

Why all r targetig DADA.He s always do DADAGIRI.He s the only consistent player in Tests n also in ODI's this year. Why u r not thinking abt Sachin n Dravid.Even Sachin s GOD of Cricket, he has 2 retire even later. He cant be continue another 10more Years. We have 2 find replacement for him too.Upon Seniors DADA s aggressive player than any SENIOR Players(ANY_ in the team.He can score runs Quickly even in Tests when team needed. He s TeamPlayer. Not 2 play for Personal Records like someothers.Juzz i m telling one.U may have Gods n cricket but dont try 2 blame Good player like SOURAV GANGULY (DADA).N onemore.Laxman may helped 2 win match against Aussies.its past.is that innings keep his place secure in team?He s not at all goodd player than DADA.Now a days in Test Cricket also we need players who wl score runs quickly. Not making 100 in 250-300 balls for their records.DADA s owez Daring And Dynamic Attacker not only in spin also in Seam Attack.

Mr. Somak, do you not know how Sachin and Ganguly are playing at the moment. May be Dravid is not playing well and should retire from ODI cricket but after all he is still the Indian Wall of test cricket. Therefore, we still need Dravid. Your comment doesn't make sense at all for Tendulkar and Ganguly. At the moment they are playing the best cricket of their life. Why in the heck do please like u say that they should retire. Common, dude have some common sense. If u don't know then go and check Sachin and Ganguly's stats for the year 2007 and you will know it.
