Somehow between Tendulkar and Gavaskar, I tend to feel more confident on Gavaskar in pressure situations. Tendulkar has invariably failed to save India when the occasions demanded and Gavaskar, even on his last test, stood up and fought until the end. If he were to play in this current series, I can bet India would not have lost at Melbourne and Sydney. Gavaskar was involved in a world record 2nd innings win over Clive Lloyd's might pace bowlers. His 221 against England that brought India close to win is also another example of his fighting spirit. He was solid like Rahul Dravid in technique, but never struggled like him. First Sunny should get the knighthood and then Sachin. I do not deny that Sachin is great. But Gavaskar was more complete and played against better bowlers.
