Is the media the real reason why Australia are the world's best at cricket?
It started with Kerry Packer and continued with Rupert Murdoch and latterly Google and Yahoo. Why do the media hype up the Aussies at the expense of other cricketing nations?

South Africa are probably the world's strongest cricket team in 2008, but without a doubt, suffer the most at the hands of the press.
A big part of Australia's armoury in cricket has traditionally been their 'media machinery', with Aussie moguls Kerry Packer and now Rupert Murdoch have ensured the Australians dominated the international cricket media.
The hype surrounding the Aussies is worth an extra man on the field and has ultimately led to cricket gaining a tabloid cheapness. The Aussies have gained the reputation of being the 'Mouth Island' partly because of this media spin and partly because of their continued mouthing off the field.

hahahahahaha you fool south africa were beaten in a test by west indies and were struggling against bangladesh you dont seem to watch the same games as the rest of the world hahaha dumbs*it.... It doesnt matter whos in charge in the media the headlines would still have been the same... 3 world cups in a row and every other trophy you can win what do you want them to say terrible aussies win 3 world cups in a row and dominate cricket for 10 years... or maybe they should say brilliant choking africans fail to make impression for the 2nd world cup in a row or south africa were brilliant in the 5-1 lost to aussie. If the sportingo people had brains they wouldnt let you write there pathetic stories maybe you should have a look at the ratings you get feral.
