Is the Bollyline series India's greatest cricket achievement?
No-one gave the tourists a prayer Down Under but after narrowly losing the Test series to Australia, MS Dhoni and his talented mix of old and new gave the world champions a cricketing lesson in their own backyard.

Finally the India-Australia summer series is over. And, much against expectations, a young and inexperienced Indian team rose to the challenge and beat the world champions in their back yard.
By playing against the champions, the Indian youngsters obtained valuable experience on how to fight to the end of a game, how to give everything and how to keep calm.
In the end, the difference between the two teams was energy. India put up a young team full of vigour. Australia on the other hand had a name to protect. Through the course of the series, the youngsters learnt slowly and by the time the finals came, they were ready. Under the exemplary role played by Sachin Tendulkar, the team rallied and took up the challenge. A repeat win at Brisbane reassured them that their dominance was not a fluke.
Australia were stalled by a number of factors, the first one was the surprise element.

A great series win, to be sure. As in England in 2005, the Aussie batsmen were done in by some great swing bowling and were well beaten by a yound and enrgetic Indian side. Not sure I agree with you about the running between wickets and fielding - it may have been much improved by Indian standards but they were still a long way behind the Aussies. Lucky for us too, if the Indian players had fielded and run between wickets as well as the Aussies, we would have been given a real thrashing!! Cheers.

Everyone loves it when the Aussies loose ! Well done, I'd like to see the Indian's against the South Africans home and away, but even IN India the Proteas are going to give you no rest... they're determined, professional and in 2008 have a goal. I think Durban is going to be buzzing, this is the home of SA's biggest Indian community... fairplay, may the best team win ! Obviously I'm a Proteas fan... so.... go boys, whip those Indians !

For some reason, the article appears with names distorted. When I submitted the article, all names were fine. I think the software used by the editorial board just messed up the names - Sachin Tendulkar has a new name now! (Sachem Medullar?). It is not my mistake folks
The SA team will arrive in India after defeating a might Bangladesh team. India on the other hand will come home after beating a minnows team like Australia on their home ground after about 20 years of struggle. There will be over confidence on the part of Indians for such an easy victory, whereas SA will have its skils honed and sharpened by a tough series against the world's best team. So I give it to SA. Let them run over the Indian team. But there is the end of the cliff beyond that. They should make sure SA does not fall off that and disappear.
