South Africa are destined for the top of the ICC tree
The drawn series in India should have been a win but with the Aussies coming up later in the year, the Proteas have the chance to become number one Test playing nation.

South Africa's Proteas have worked hard over the last 18 -24 months.
No other team in international cricket has come close to their work-rate or accomplishments over this period.
Within this equation for actually earning and deserving satisfaction in sport, the Proteas feel they can quite justifiably change the Indian drawn series to a South African win after the ICC admonished the BCCI for the poor pitch at Kanpur.
South Africa have a great record since their last Test defeat eons ago in Sri Lanka under the makeshift captaincy of Ashwell Prince in 2005. They have Test series wins away and at home which include Pakistan, the West Indies, New Zealand and Bangladesh.
The season, the controversy plagued India, managed to salvage a drawn series and this is what Protea's fans are now claiming as their moral victory after the ICC's pitch finding for the final manufactured draw in Kanpur.
South African fans feel robbed by the poor sportsmanship of the BCCI who were intent on ensuring they would not slip after all the hype they had manufactured during their Australian tour, infamously labelled, 'the season of spite'.
I feel the Indians should be docked a point and this would effectively put the Proteas into a deserved second place on the ICC leaderboard.
South Africa have home and away Test series victories through Pakistan, the West Indies, New Zealand, Bangladesh and India in 2008 and have moved into second on the ICC ranking below Australian whom they aim to dethrone before this time in 2009.
If there was justice in this world, this might be true and not merely a pipe-dream of fanatical Proteas' fans.

If the South African team wins games against Australia, I hope it's due to being a better team - and vice versa - with no vileness and poor sportsmanship! The events of the Indian tour are still at the forefront of our memories over here. So please don't take this as a swipe against the Proteas! Come to think of it, (she says hopefully) perhaps both the Australian team and the South African one will both relish playing an intense competitive series ... without all the dodgyness and revoltingness both sides have recently experienced.

If the media and the ICC/national sporting bodies get too foul, perhaps our lot could all flounce onto a chartered jet and threaten to go away...and get the Proteas to come along too. Actually I'm entranced by the fantasy of an international players strike - demanding that the BCCI be suspended from the ICC for a couple of years....that would certainly lift the Spirit of Cricket! And then NZ could poach all their players...(well, the nice ones anyway).

I agree that South Africe have indeed been in supreme form, infact the best in the world in the past year, I have completely no idea why you would think that South Africa should have won the India series? India beat them fair and square in the third test, so why should India be docked a point? Because the pitch was good for bowling? All teams, all around the world, create pitches that play to the strengths of the home team. We were playing with two people who could spin the ball, and also batsmen with experience playing on such tracks. So what's the problem. However, other than that, I do agree that they are going to dethrone the Australians. In fact, in the near future I see Australia, India, and South Africa as equally matched, especially in the form which the latter two are in at the moment.

THe reason why we think SA should have won, is because the pitch for the third match was not only prepared for the Indians (Which we all accept happens), but it was a sub standard pitch, which resulted in a warning from the ICC. IT would have been good to watch them battle the third out on a decent pitch.

mr.Shashank Anonymus , india , won in third test , bec. it was nonsence wicket , where ball was turning from day1, and in kanpur they lost miserebly not bec. pitch helped faster bowlers , but bec. pitch was true, for ur knoledge , true test pitch is one which has bit of moment for fast bowlers on two days and then it starts turning from day three, not a dust bowl so in summary on true wicket , they can't beat this sa team , and why r u fooling around on aussies -india test series , fro ur memory , mr. they lost it 2-1 , and if u say that bec. of wrong umpiring decision, then mr. they won in perth , because , hussy and symopnd were given poor decisiopn there, so stop making cryfool over cricket umpiring decision , because one day truth will be in front of u , only bcci's money can't makeindia world beater , it comes from professionlisam and big heart , not from glamour not from just the fact that only great thing about indian cricket is that its cricket follower, not cricket if u leave tendulkar, kumble , india would had been insulted in australiya
