Cycling will never get the same following in the uk as in Europe, it is too hard for most people to be interested and it doesn't have a pub culture. Fans are well behaved and are usualy prepared to put something other than lager into the sport. I don't have a favourite football team, they are all overpaid prima donnas who wouldn't know core fitness if it smacked them in the gob. Signed 62 yr old roadie

We used to have the same problem down here in Aus before the likes of Robbie McEwan and Stu O'Grady. Now Cadell Evans has picked up the mantle. Back in the days of Phil Anderson the tour would get some coverage, particularly when he held the yellow jersey that one time, but now we have live coverage and people actually know about the sport. We also have a few biggish cycling races down here that some of the pro teams come to, and that's also helped. Don't worry, Hamilton will go the way of every other F1 hopeful and Fleet St. will be looking for new heroes! Cheers.
