Former Chelsea manager Avram Grant has been tipped to take over from under-fire director of football Damien Comolli should Spurs need a replacement.

Grant most famously led Chelsea to Premier League success, despite losing out to champions Manchester United on the final day of last season in a title race which was described as going to 'right to the wire' by sports pundits across the UK in particular.

He lost out again unfortunately in Moscow, where United again came good in what was the first-ever all-English Champions League final. An eventful spell at Chelsea came to a swift end, however, with the Israeli being replaced by former Portugal coach Luis Felipe Scolari.

I would welcome the acquisition of Grant in any way at White Hart Lane as his eye for talent across the world was noticeable during his time in London. He could be what Spurs are looking for as far as bringing in top-class youth and talent is concerned.

This is something that Comolli has succeeded in doing, but his competence and time awareness, as witnessed in the summer transfer window, was truly horrendous as we failed to secure important signings. Our league form at present is reflecting this mistake.

Grant's managerial presence would also be welcome within our current managerial set-up of Juande Ramos, Gus Poyet and Marcos Alvarez. His reputation for giving young players a chance may also give Spurs another dimension with regards to bringing youth players through into the first team squad, something that I am sure most fans would like to see more of in the near future.
