Owen Hargreaves has a serious injury problem - well, when the tendinitis strikes in his knees he has. But I dearly hope the surgeons can correct the problem and get him fit and active again by next season.

It's a wonder no one has tried correct the problem before, but Manchester United have the money and resources to almost work miracles, so Owen will be praying they can perform one on him now.

What I don't understand is that Sir Alex Ferguson and everyone else knew that Hargreaves had his tendinitis problem when they splashed out £18m for him, so you might well say: "Tough luck, you should have seen it coming!"

But nobody is going to want to buy a player with a career-threatening injury, so United have no other option but to try to seek a cure and hope they can recoup something either on the pitch from a fit player, or by selling him at a greatly reduced price.

The pity is that Hargreaves is a half-decent player when fit. His pedigree speaks for itself. All those years at Bayern Munich and, more recently, a regular pick for the England squad.

Good luck Owen and I hope it all works out. Nobody wants to see anyone laid low by a painful injury, so let's hope you're back soon and helping United to more success!
