Historically the Southampton youth system was one of the key reasons why we were able to survive in the premier league. Producing & buying in young talent such as Le Tissier, Shearer, Danny & Rod Wallace, Dodd, etc. was why we were able to overachieve for so many years.

As the song goes, Matt Le Tissier really was unbelievable. He wasn't just the greatest thing since sliced bread, he was the greatest thing since bread of all kinds.
