David Beckham has got a real nerve having a go at Landon Donovan over his snub to the LA Galaxy team that he is supposed to play for.

Becks arranged a deal with AC  MIlan in a vain bid to get himself into the 2010 World Cup picture in South Africa. Whether he makes it or not remains to be seen.

Never rule anything out with Becks because he is still a massively marketable product and that alone might be enough to earn him a place in the England squad.

But he has treated the Yanks with the contempt they almost certainly deserve. A bunch of players attempting to make a game popular and play in a country that is only interested in their own sports - basketball, baseball and grid iron - and quite right too!

Beckham may get a bit of stick when he goes back to play for LA but so what. As if it will worry him and Posh one iota!

And who is Landon Donovan anyway? Did he have a record in the pop charts back in the 70s?

The Yanks might have reached the final of the Confederations Cup but if they manage a win or two in their World Cup group games then I might sit up and take notice of them again.

Becks should have given them a bit more respect when he disappeared to Milan, but so what.

The contract's signed so just pick up the cheques, do what you have to do, and get the hell out as soon as you can . . . and don't go back mate. Unless they offer you three times as much again!
