The giant Serbia international arrived from Valencia in Spain this summer and at 6ft 8in tall he will relish aerial battles eve and prove a handful for centre backs throughout the league.
He is aware though that he will need use every ounce of his physique if he is to succeed in England.
“La Liga is quite physical. It may not be as fast as the Premier League but I will certainly do my best to adapt,” said Zigic.
“I'm pretty sure I will be able to do that. I do have to adapt a bit physically but I am working very, very hard on that in training to step up the pace.”
Zigic will add some much needed weight to a misfiring strike force that hit the back of the net just 38 times in 38 games last season.
