You can't manage a team better than Mourinho did. He took an unsuccesful team and lead them to a double Premiership title. Chelsea failed in the Champion's League against Liverpool(nonexisting goal) and Barcelona(Del Horno's red card), teams that later won the competition. I call it a lack of luck. This is his first crisis with Chelsea and everyone should be alowed to have one in a three-year period. This is football. If Bill Gates would buy Real, he would had just an S out of success. There are some things both money and Mastercard can't buy. I'm a Juventus fan I would be glad to see Mourinho in Turin.

Benitez would never squander money. Look at all the dross he's bought for L'pool. Jose has been great for the Premiership and bloody brilliant for Chelsea.

Ok Chelsea spend alot of money, but Chelsea get ripped off for just about every player they buy. Carvalho, Essien, Drogba, Shevchenko, S.W.Phillips, J.O. Mikel are all players that came to the club for a lot of money, although the first three are starting to warrant their price-tags. Chelsea sold Duff, Gudjohnsen and Huth because they wanted more first team football, and they've all been pretty poor at their new clubs. We sold Gallas in exchange for the best left back in the world, Ashley Cole, after Gallas had threatened to score an own goal. We have a very small squad, and we have suffered injuries in major areas this season. Joe Cole and Petr Cech have been long-term absentee's, and they were both established first team players. We've also lost Terry, Cudicini, Robben and now Boulahrouz for lengthy periods. And if memory serves me correct in the last two seasons we have been miles off the opposition, and last season we did the double over the teams lead by Wenger and Benitez. I don't think you can critic

I smile when I read stuff like this. You know the sort of thing - 99% speculation 1% guesswork. Face it, my kid could have written this, and done a better job. What about examining where the money went; on what players; comparison with Ranieri. If you're going to write something, make it worthwhile pleeeeease. And no, of course neither Chelsea nor the Premiership would be better off without him. The man is a genius, and a footballing one as well as a comic one at that. Stick with it Jose, the game needs you.

So you say your kid could write this...why does he think Mourinho is crap too, what im saying in this piece is mourinho has won 2 titles but what would a good manager have achieved with the resources the special has had perhaps a champions league trophy and plzzzzzz the excuses that Liverpools goal was was not a goal and Del Horno`red card are just excuses Del Horno deserved to be sent off, and all teams have good and bad luck in football but the truely great teams overcome this by not relying one single incident to derail there hopes. Jeez ye boys are getting a bit hot under the collar about simple facts.

Given that ur a Juventus fan, I'm not surprised at your grouse at Liverpool's non-existent goal against Chelski (after all, were you not the goalie there...fool). Someone who cud not score against Pool at home would obv love similar teams
At least we're not playing the most boring football in the world anymore, Pool man.

does anyone not remember a certain Special One guiding an unfancied Porto to the Uefa Cup and the Champions League in successive seasons? I dont think you can say Mourinhos success is down to money because his won big trophies with teams that had less money than there opponents I think the problems come down to Abramovic's relationship with Mourinho and the power struggle between the two and you cant win the premiership without playing wingers in every game
by surendra khadka on January 14, 2007
i think he has all the qualities and capabilities that a manager shoule have. Without him the premiership title for 2 consecutive yearsalong with other titles ,setting a highest record of 95 points(as far as i know),a good home record run and their dominance in english football over the past two years wouldnot have been possible.Spending moneyt for a good cause cannot be thought as useless. It will surely pay if not currenty, but at the future.i think whatever may be the reasons for leaving the club ,he should stay for the chelsea fans
