Arsenal captain Thierry Henry showed his team the way to victory, scoring one and assisting another in the 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers, continuing the winning run since the Frenchman's return to the line-up. Arsenal now have four wins, three of them away, and twice against Liverpool in the FA and Carling Cups.

Arsenal had to play with only ten men for much of the match, as Gilberto Silva was sent off for retaliating to a tackle by Robbie Savage. Savage made a tackle that was best described with his own surname, and duly received a yellow, though it could have been a red, as he looked like he made a meal out of Gilberto's kick. There looked to be little contact by Gilberto, but Savage fell like he got hit by a truck. Savage has long been infamous for over-reacting to tackles - I guess referee Rob Styles might have been living in a cave not to have known about his reputation as a play-actor. Oh, and Styles once robbed Arsenal of a win some time ago.

Anyway, it was good to see Arsenal still attacking with one man down, Cesc Fabregas having quite a good time in the centre, picking out his team-mates with passes almost as accurate as those from fellow Spaniard Xabi Alonso.

Alexandre Hleb, Tomas Rosicky, Robin van Persie and Henry were running circles around Blackburn defenders during counter-attacks, and the back four, save for Justin Hoyte, was holding firm, even though they were more exposed to attacks than usual, without Gilberto shielding them.

Keeper Jens Lehmann did not have much to do, but was faultless during the times he was called into action. Hoyte was given tons of trouble by Morten-Gamst Pedersen, who was Blackburn's best player by some distance. Hoyte does not look like a strong wing-back in the form of Emmanuel Eboue and Lauren.

Henry was the biggest difference between the sides, as he was everywhere on the field. Defending when Blackburn were attacking, he was, together with Fabregas, at the heart of every counter-attack. Thierry himself made up for the handicap of being down a player. He also showed why he is so important to Arsenal in attack, having one assist for Kolo Toure from a perfect free-kick, along with a stunner of a goal under pressure from a number of Blackburn players. He picked up the ball in midfield, ran right into enemy territory, with with Blackburn players in front of him, calmly strolled past one, and laid the ball to Fabregas, whose return pass to Henry was perfect. He then outran two defenders and slotted the ball into the top-right corner, cool as ever. Now that is the reason he is King Henry, a player who has scored at least 20 goals every season.

Arsenal look unstoppable - the only problem is  that Gilberto is  suspended for the match against Manchester United next week, together with the Cup ties against Spurs and Bolton. Mathieu Flamini should take over, and all Arsenal fans can do is to trust him.
