At  the press conference after the draw with Real Betis, Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello gave an amusing answer to a question about the use of youth players.

"These players have already played some Champions League and King's Cup matches,'' he said. ''Miguel Torres played last Sunday. I think they know very well what all this is about. Torres is in the team now. You people complain whenever I don't use youth-system players, and now that I've done so, you complain anyway."

Some Real Madrid Castille players deserve opportunities to feature for the first team - guys like Ruben De La Red, Javi Garcia, Antonio Adan, Juan Mata, Torres and Borja Valero. De La Red, Garcia and Torres have already had opportunities and have proved themselves to be talented. We should expect more appearances from them in the future. However, Garcia is out injured and hasn't played for a while.

Adan is currently the third-choice keeper, although he isn't registered with the first team. Some fellow Real Madrid fans rate him above Diego Lopez but Adan will not get opportunites as long as Iker Casillas isn't injured. However, I would expect him to play more frequently for the first team next season.

Mata is supposed to be the next big attacking talent from Castille, some say since Raul himself. Although he has been chased by clubs like Valencia and Barcelona, it now looks certain he will stay at the club for now. But next season he will be looking for first-team action, whether at Real or on loan. He just might get some opportunities towards the end of the season, with fatigue taking its toll on the players.

Lastly, there is Borja Valero. I have watched this player and for much of the season he has been Castille's best player. He has been selected for a few matches, but is yet to feature. So all he does is warm the bench.
