Despite controlling almost 60 per cent of possession, Milan failed to score a goal and did not really threaten Lazio in a 0-0 draw.

Milan must now surely be looking for another attacking option. Despite their dominance, they managed just four shots on target in nine attempts compared to Lazio's five from 11. Substitute Massimo Ambrosini had one of Milan's best opportunities late in the game, heading wide from the centre of the penalty area.

Milan had won three consecutive matches but their march up the table has been halted and after their loss to Serie B side Arezzo in midweek, they are seemingly back where they were a month ago. I think the biggest problem is still the defence but the attack cannot escape blame and, despite Alberto Gilardino's recent upturn in form, much of the attacking responsibility falls on Kaka and if the opposition effectively close him down, Milan often look lame up front, too.

I don't know whether another midfielder is the solution or a striker (Ronaldo could be on his way so we might get to see if a decent striker can make a difference) but they definitely need something. I am still a little worried about Milan's width. I know they have players who can play out wide but no one who can play like a Cristiano Ronaldo, Mancini or a Navas.

In other games Fiorentina went down 3-1 to Inter after leading 1-0, while  Roma drew 1-1 at Livorno after Francesco Totti picked up his ninth red card in Serie A in rather childish circumstances. With it, the attacker has added another blemish to a very tarnished career.

Parma took home the three points after Manchester United's on-loan striker Guiseppe Rossi netted the only goal against Torino on his debut for the Crociati - and a Vincenzo Iaquinta goal also got Udinese three points over Messina.
