In an age of countless surveys of consumer opinion, focus groups and lifestyle questionnaires, there was one piece of research that stuck in my mind some time ago. This nugget of mind-blowing information asserted that more people in Edinburgh suffer from heart disease than the entire population of Sweden. No real surprise there, I thought – after all how many people in Scandinavia support Hearts?
With the end of another season looming, the thoughts of many Hearts supporters will soon be turning to next season. And for those of us who have season tickets, the annual poser of "will we renew our coveted book?" Normally, that’s a rhetorical question with the paperwork signed and returned to the ticket office in McLeod Street before you can say "monkeys in the safari park". But I wonder how many supporters will do so this summer?
Life these days is complicated and stressful enough and for many a release from the hardships of everyday life is through going to the football to cheer on their team. But for Hearts fans this season, going to see the boys in maroon has merely added to their stress levels – and events off the field have significantly increased their unhappiness.
For nearly 40 years I’ve been proud to call myself a Hearts supporter. When idle conversation with strangers, whether it be on business or leisure, turns to football my heart swells when I divulge that I follow the fortunes of Scotland’s biggest club outside of the Old Firm. Even saying the name Heart of Midlothian brings a sense of pride. But, sadly, events of the past year are gradually replacing pride with dishonour.

I asked this question in a poll on the JambosKickback supporters forum. Nearly 600 people have voted now. Allowing for the distraction of an option to say whether you were on the waiting list or not, it breaks down very roughly as 75% ST holders will renew, 20% won't and 5% are undecided. Interesting. His latest outburst is nothing short of embarrassing.

I to thought that it was great for Scottish football to have teams like hearts and aberdeen make a run for the silverware. It can only strengthen Scottish football and make us a stronger threat in europe. But this idiot is dragging not only the game down but is making a fool out of Hearts. The true fans need to boycott a few home fixtures and stop putting money into his pockets. Lets flush the turd down the drain that runs into slums he came from.

Well the club as been part of my life for years. So I'll be going back again next year as usual. But the article makes valid points.

If he has evidence of the Old Firm bribing refs and the likes, he should shut up and hand it to the SFA to investigate it. I doubt he has, so it can't be long before sanctions start coming against him (and Hearts?), and court cases ensue. If I was a referee, I might fancy taking him to court...he's got plenty of money for a bit of compo. The SFA might also fancy a bit of legal action and some money out of him. It won't help Hearts any, but then he seems to think he's a "special one". I feel sorry for Hearts in a way with him at the club. He seems to be doing more harm than good.

Vladimir Romanov, like many from the old Eastern Block,is an enigma. We may never truly be able to enter into his world,be it fantasy, paranoid or just plain crazy.I must admit that when he first appeared on the scene @ Tynie I was delighted,at last someone with real CASH and the guts to take on the Old Firm had my head spinning. He saved Tynecastle, invested in some quality players,a quality coach and took Scottish Football by storm. When Burley exited,I thought, maybe Vlad knew better than me what was happening.Andy Webster being frozen out did not bother me as he had already refused to play in the previous pre-season as he had his sights set on a move to Ibrox,I think Vlad has been proved right on this one as we saw Webster move to Ibrox via JJB(only a coincidence they are major business partners).I believe Steven Pressley was a far better CAPTAIN than he was a centre half and I am sure he will show this at Celtic(if he was standing for principles, why did he sell his silence to Vlad on his exit??) Paul Hartley,
