What a retarded article. I hope the plank who wrote it doesn't get paid for it? United have 69 points after 28 games. That's an absurd amount of points and you'd be hard pressed to find where they should have improved on that points tally, if you exclude the West Ham game. Scholes and Giggs are playing their best football for a very long time - probably since the treble season. Your unimpressive defence is the best defence in the premiership so far. Heinze has not been anonymous - he's been injured and then kept out of the team by the suberb Evra. You're obviously very biased and/or know next to nothing about the topic at hand.

I cannot believe the above comments lets lok at this from a different agle, the man u defence has let in the least goals in the premiership, van der sars sucsesser ben foster s working his way up, rio (28 years old) has f ew years left vidic has been exceptional. evra is a budding star and we have back up with silvester and heinze, or midfield carick and scholes have been devastating (the goal difference supports that) and once we have owen hargraves in the bag the midfield is a match for anyone, ronaldo and giggs need no introduction but has anyone forgot park ji sung i go to all the matches and he is very impressive he never gives up the ball, and with wayne rooney, gissepi rossi, alan smith and saha at the front possibly the purchess of ferando torres would help but other then the two additions instead of the has been team you seem to mention we have a team of world beaters.

absolutely right, ManU are not good it's just their competitors having a low season. They'll be 3rd next season.
by Kim on March 02, 2007
ManUre better enjoy this- it'll be their last chance at the title for a while.

United has perhaps the best defence in the league. It would have been better if Essien and Obi Mikel were not stolen from under our noses. Rio average? That is simply laughable. If Vidic were English, the press would have been calling him the best central defender in the world. Also, you totally ignore Evra's contribution. Terry is just lucky that he has Carvalho, Makalele and Essien to clean up his mess every time he goes to head a ball. Courageous or just plain stupid? I agree that United need to build to stay on top, but isn't that always true with every team? And at the start of the season, weren't many pundits predicting a 4th place finish for United, and with the additions of the 'world class' Chavchenko and Bollocks, Chelski were expected to make a clean sweep of every trophy. These poorly researched articles are frustrating.

"An unimpressive defence...":-We've let in around the same amount of goals as Chelsea and Liverpool, that comment has no basis. ..."a smattering of talent in attack":- We have scored the most goals out of the top four, our attacking football means on any day we have 4-5 genuine goal scorers on the pitch, with Chelsea only having Drogba and Lamps with a couple of other players chipping in every now and again. Yes we need to strengthen but arguably so do Chelsea, their so called squad depth has been shattered by only a few injuries. Liverpool still don't have a decent world class striker and the players brought in in the summer have been far from convincing. This article really is very poor and will only appeal to the biased and blind supporters of the other top four, any genuine football fans will see right through this.
Chelsea4ever???? god help you if abromavich sells thats all i can say where is your history what is your future. and one hit wonders??? 8 titles in fourteen years mate, and it looks like it could be 9 in 15 years. Man u have been the driving force in the premiership since it started. we need a replacement for neville, and extra striker and owen hargeaves then we are a force again for the next 10 years, my god you are blind if you can not see that.
... to start looking for a proper replacment for Scholes, he has been awesome this year, put Gerrard to shame. We dont want to end up with another Keane situation where all of a sudden he's gone and we're left with a massive gap. I think however we have a youngster who will eventually be able to take over from him. But he's gunna need to get some top level experience.

What a moron to call the team that has one the most championships "one hit wonders" ... And Mr. chelsea4ever ... do you realise that Man U has more points than any other championship winning points of previous seasons at this point.

If that is analysis, then milk is blue. The defence is solid, Ferdinand and Vidic are a great combination, add Evra and Neville, both on top of their game, and you see why United have the best defensive record in the Premiership. Brown serves as reserve and usually plays well. Heinz tries too hard these days, but if he gets back in the team... Anyone who can't see how Carrick knits the team together is blind. The guy hardly ever loses the ball, laysit off short and long at will, and is always available. Scholes is playing out of his skin, mistiming tackles has always been his weakness, so nothing to do with aging, and he makes up for it with killer passing and killer goals. Up front we have the two Rs and Saha. Saha didn't peak, he's a class act. Anyone watch howhe played against Reading, never giving the ball away, even in tight situations he forced Reading into giving away free kicks. Great team. Great players. Giggs is always maddening, more so than Ronaldo ever has been, with his stunning runs and pathet
by Harry on March 02, 2007
Scholes hasn't put anyone to shame but himself. Inaccurate passing, late in the tackle. A has-been.
Sorry mate but you show you know little about football, all the experts including those linked with the other top 4 clubs have spoken how good he has been this season, open your eyes, ur a fool.
by Nick(2) on March 02, 2007
Let's face it, we're good but not that good. It's true the other teams have been woeful this season and remember that we've earned less points this season (at this point) than Chelsea had last season. If they were on form, and Arsenal and Liverpool too, perhaps our stats wouldn't look so good. We need to spend. Ronaldo will leave. We need to rebuild.

thats a joke
by graham broomfield on March 03, 2007
I agree entirely with the comments above.Apart from Evra,Ronaldo Rooney and Vidic the team lacks pace.Whilst it is now time to bring in younger players it is probably hard to couple speed with sheer quality but it is this formular that needs to be acquired in order to remain one of the most feared teams in football
by Sumesh on March 03, 2007
Everyone is entitled for their opinion, but no one has the right to abuse it.
by craig marshall on March 03, 2007
Graham mentioned a lack of speed apart from evra, ronaldo, rooney and vidic apart from the fact that you obviously are not a man u fan but still managed to role of 4 names without even thinking about it, you forgot park ji sung, neville always seems to find him self up the opposition side of the field, and do a good job defending so he must be quick, and saha seems to skin people on a regular basis.not to mention rossi will be back next season, and the person who mention scoles lack of passing abilitys, steve mclaren does not seem to think that is the case, i tell you now if scoles said drop lampard and play me in his position mclaren would drop lampard tommorrow. you dont find your self in the 6th round of the fa cup, nine points clear of the premiership and in the knock out stageso f europe for having a team of has beens. wake up the lot of you, and as for chelsea where is your pase other then dogbreath and the olimpic gold medalist for diving, robben???
by GOD on March 03, 2007
What was that bit about evra again? He wouldn't be a 'star' even in a league two side.
by craig on March 03, 2007
well he is part of a back 4 which is on paper the best in the premiership, honestly people should luck at statistics before putting on statements which has "one flaw" in it, look at bbc sport see it for yourself, (by the way he was in the squad that got to the world cup final) not bad for some one that should be in a league two side perhaps steve mclaren should be looking in our league two to get us to the final instead of trying to accomadate both frank lampard and steve gerrard, but i suppose thats a different arguement, still you canot argue with fact
by bob on March 04, 2007
Dude you must be having a puff of that carib green. Rio and Vidic are the best center pairing in Europe and the defensive speaks to it> Evra has been the best left back all season and is just 25, Ben Foster is the next England keeper and Neville still the best right back in the UK. Carrick will come good and when they sign Hargreaves and Nani United will be at the top again. Oh, have a look at Evans and Simpson and don't forget that sensational defender in Spain. United will always be at the top.Just the way it is..
