However, I don't like the general attitude that it's the players fault. It's simple supply and demand - if somebody is willing to pay that much for the TV rights, then that's what they think the TV rights are worth. Simple enough really. If you were in charge of a club & suddenly found you had an extra £20,000,000 - £40,000,000 a season, of course you're going to buy the best you can, and to get the best, you must pay the best. The only way to reduce the money in English football is to reduce the demand. With the upwards spiral continuing, and the dominance of English league football, this doesn't seem too likely.

so whats your point...advertisers will pay for exposure..the premier league is the best foot ball product in world...in germany i watch 5 games a weekend plus nearly every mid week game for 9.99 euros a month....the bundesliga isnt shown anywhere, because nobody wants to see it....the premiership has set new standards, the other leagues have to aspire to.., if the do they will get a bigger slice of the over all cake... if they dont the premiership will be like the NBA, the best players will play the best game and eventually will rule worldfootball...to the etxtent that national team competions like the world cup will take a backseat much like the olympics take a backseat to the NBA and the NHL... interestingly enough england is the only country where overseas footballers are treated like every other profession, u have to be exceptional otherwise u dont get a workpermit...in germany all u need is to be able to kick a ball in an straight line and u can work i.e. play immediatly..doesnt matter where u come
