It's more of a question of resolve.Spurs need to be a buying club as they are in a very good position at the moment.Cash rich (unlike Arsenal).Good team structure, that needs only a couple of players to close the gap on Liverpool and Arsenal. When the premiership was formed, we missed the boat, which in essence allowed others to dominate for over a decade. Lets not miss out again.Consolidate and grow, which is exactly what Levy has done over the past five years.Youth must be allowed to flourish and intellegent purchasing of players. The management have done a fantastic job, and long may it continue

How can you say Drogba and Ronaldo are playing better football than anyone in the world. Kaka has been by far the best player in the world this season. There is football outside of England you twat.
by Darren on June 03, 2007
As a Spurs fan I had a similar coversation with a Gooner friend. It is easy to forget that since the start of the Premiership many different teams have finished in the top 4, with teams in the top four now having finished way down the league at some points in this time. Why such short-sightedness from those saying that the top four will never be broken? If an Arsenal, or even a Chelsea, were to have a bad season, and finish fifth it could lead to an exodus of their best players and a substantial drop in revenue for the next season, which would effect spending power. The team which claimed that elusive fourth, or even third, could invest for the next season with the extra money and spending power. The fact Everton never did this is unfathomable. Anyway, this isn't too unlikely a scenario and if it was Spurs who were to break the top 4 next year you would see massive investment and confidence to consolidate it. The top four us more a psychological construction than any real barrier. Any brief look

"Gunners club of nest are in Buenos Aires for the week past to obtain papers of Tevez. $27 is the deal agreement to pay length of 3 years. Kia Joorabchian speaks 'Tevez no longer with United of Westham or with company MSI, sad day that Tevez is on different path but he desires club Gunners and A.Wenger. Gunners new 8 number is set to sign 60 english grands weekly contract when he returns to Europe Tuesday" http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/tr http://www.cronica.com.ar/

"Both teams' leading players (Cristiano Ronaldo and Didier Drogba) have been playing scintillating football, streets ahead of anything else in world football, let alone British or European." Shut up. Drog only scored 20! That is rubbish. If Henry played a full campaign and only scored 20 Arsenal fans would not he happy. The unfit henry scored at 0.7 goals per game. If he was fit all season he would have scored more. Agree about ronaldo. he has been awsome. Also RVP would have scored around 20 aswell.

West Ham sites have been covering this Tevez deal over the weekend. Would have loved him to stay but pleased he will be in the PL next season.

Is the Tevez thing true????
Can anyone confirm it?
by Dan Mac on June 03, 2007
'if' Henry scored 20 goals you'd be dissapointed??? That's because you rely so heavily on him, Chelsea play a completely different structure, which is why Lampard scores more than your whole midfield put together! I'm not even a Chelsea fan, but what you said was so stupid I couldn't ignore it! You can't say Drogba wasn't streets ahead of everyone because 'if' Henry was playing he would have been up there with him... yeah, and 'if' I was a bit better I'd play for England and 'if' my Aunty had nuts.... I think you get it!
by Goofle on June 03, 2007
I dont think he was streets ahead. I know he scored the most but i think i would expect him to have scored around 25. To be honest i wouldnt be dissapointed at Henry but that is just what i said at the time.

All the papers seem to be covering the story and interviews in Argentina. German sports TV also as Bayern failed bidding for him.
I hope it is true. The only striker in the world i would sign for arsenal. Evry other is not worth buying!

fair point mate, bit your head off a bit, I'll blame the fact I've had to come to work and have an extremly bad hang over... but if your saw any of him last year, you can't just judge him on his goals, I really don't like the bloke but he scored some great important goals.. and I hate to say it... while your comparing him to Henry... he can score the important goals in the big games where Henry quite often lets himself down
by BBCnut on June 03, 2007
The MSI site has confirmed Tevez deal.
I agree that Drog scores important goals. Also disagree that henry doesnt. Real madrid, Juevntus, Sparta Pregue, Man United, Spurs, Wigan. All important goals.
Give us a link. Its just hard to believe.
Champs league final??? World cup final?? The Madrid goal was about the most important goal he's ever scored for you... missed some sitters in the champs league final... I did mean he doesn't produce it in the big game, cup finals etc... ot that I'm even trying to knock him... I support spurs but will openly admit to being massivly jealous of your boys for having him! and to be honest, since when is Wigan a big game?
The game where we kept Champions League place. he scored a hatrick
but it was still only wigan, they nearly got relegated...

No, because the top players are lazy and don't want to put any effort in, that's why they only join teams that are already winning leagues and in the CL, and not teams that aren't.
by spurs above arscum on June 03, 2007
tevez... you must be joking! They could only fund half of tevez by selling vavavoom! And the article states that drogba and ronaldo are miles ahead of who? everyone? everywhere? well i think that's a load of KAKA! And i'd take gerrard ahead of either of em, every day of the week!
by Are you sure? on June 03, 2007
There is nothing on the MSI site about this as suggested... http://www.mediasportsinvestments.com/ Also what does this mean in the West Ham saga? Back in April they claimed that the Tevez, MSI agreement had been terminated, but he is still listed on the MSI site???

Google do you have any links to the German / Argentinian Sources?
