I do agree with what you're saying - I think though, that it's quite interesting that rumours are going round saying that Dein will front Kroenke's bid. Also, Kroenke does have a hell of a lot of experience in Sport - he own's teams in the NFL, AFL, NHL, NBA, NLL (Lacrosse) and Major League Soccer, as well as various other sports investments (Sports cable TV station etc.). I do think therefore that he may well be the exception to the rule with regards to foreign investment. Two other points, Whelan and Quinn. Both new (ish) chairmen for their respective clubs. One has brought an immense amount of everything to his club, and the other certainly looks like he's heading that way! Nice article though. Enjoyed reading it.

Like everything life was so much better back then....diabolical stadiums, standing three deep to get a pee because of the lack of facilities, food poisoning from the vendors because of a lack of hygene. little or no crowd control, cram them in like sardines. Ibrox those were the days eh...and all that was only in seventies

u mite just be a bit to romantic as far as d dein is concerned...he is a football man, he is an astute politician and businesman , who happened to combine fun and business...but he didnt do it just for the love, but als for cash...football is business..wanting the tommy trinders back , is a it like saying candle light was better than electricty...as far as roman abrahomvich is concernd, he at least didnt buy chelsea to make money , or if he ever does he is a lot cleverer than we all thought... he bot chelsea to become a world citizen and make himself immune against any problems in russia...., but he could have done the same by buying the royal opera house, he just likes foorball more...so in a way he is more like an old style chairman.. and i would rather have him than some US corporation, who has to mortgage futures income to pay for the interest like the glaziers..the fact that he is russian doesnt make him less of a football fan....HAVE U SEEN HIM CHEER????
