For me SAF epitomizes Manchester United. Without him life at United will be unbelievable. I don't think hes gonna retire in the nxt 3 years. He still has the same will to burn with. What SAF brings into the team is determination & the Never say die attitude. Long live Sir Alex Ferguson

So, another collapse in Europe and the Fergie 'retirement' machine has rumbled back into life. The ink is barely dry on the print from last nights 3-0 reverse! Ferguson stepping down would indeed be a huge blow to United, particularly now as they are still about one more season away from being a complete side with the current crop. I am still baffled as to how he got that squad of players to Champions elect, with some notable exceptions of course. I firmly believe no other manager in England can and would have got the same result from his players. That is the task facing any potential manager coming in to replace him. United fans will not accept anything less than a continuation of what has been the norm for the past 15 years or so. Will players such as Feltcher, Carrick & Richardson regress under a new man, undoing all the work Fergie has done? There is no claiming otherwise that these players, amongst others, are over achieving and you have to credit Ferguson's man management for that. I do feel t

You stated that the FA Cup in 1990 was Fergies first trophy but that is incorrect. he had already one numerous domestic cups, league titles and European trophies at Aberdeen.

With regards to the reference to Sir Alex's first trophy, this was with direct reference to his first trophy for United as the article was only about his United managerial career. Hope this clears that up

no disrespect mate but a collapse of fergies retirement machine.. i hate "morninio" and i hope liverpool win the champions league even though i will have to put up with listening to we won it 6 times) but man u team are at their limits again we have had another terrible season of injuries. rio and our captain neville was not present at one of the galacticos of europe.. if we had rapped some of our players up and not gone for the league like milan have done in italy and liverpool has done in england these over achiving players" would still be in the mix for a third eurpean i believe. its ok sitting on your high horse now but you are a country mile behind in the league. and i would of liked to see you get past chelsea missing your captain (gary neville for steve gerrard) and jamie carriger (for rio ferdiand) it would not of happened again with the exception of mo sissoko you have had a seemingly easy seaon in terms of star players getting injured... your turn will come man u had it this season and last arsenal
and chelsea have had it this season, just ythink we have had missing neville, vidic ferdinand, heinze, park, silvestre, smith, ole gunna, saha, and also for a period van der sar, thats pracitcally a full team. think of your team with out reaina, carrger, agger, alonso, gerrard, crouch, dirk kuyt, bellamy, arna riisa, and macharano, be honest and i mean honest get past chelsea!!! thirs in the league i dont think so...

Ferguson has proven to be the best domestic British manager ever. Maybe if Bob Paisley had stayed longer at Liverpool he'd have won more leagues than Fergsuon but as it stands Ferguson has won most. However, in Europe it's undeniable that Ferguson was found wanting. One European Cup final in so many attempts is hardly the stuff of great managers of all time. No one remembers semi-finalists only the losers themselves. His teams always have leaked soft goals at the highest level and lacked self belief against giants like Real Madrid and AC Milan. Ferguson himself lacks self belief in the European Cup and it explains many of his European failures.

Saf is a great manager he has to be the best. Let's see he has made manunited the best team in the 1990's made himself the only manager to win the fa cup 5 times. the premiership 3 years in a row. he stopped mourinho from winning three in a row. won the treble. the double twice Has won lots of community shields. And can win more
