It is not as much were they the better team on the night, about that their is no doubt. But UEFA have created a very dangerous precident just like the Football Premier League have done with West Ham. Both organisations have lost alot of credability as in short they are saying money rules and that is not the end of it. The Italian FA should also have been severily punished for their lack of integrity in the situation. As we all know cup competitions are very different then the league season in which a team can have a bad day at the office and still recover in which situations even themselves out during the season. How the author can make sweeping statements like he has done leaves me with a sour taste. Look at the semi final scenario. Chelsea in with a shout for 4 trophies, Manchester United in with a shout for the Treble. Both teams locked in a mammoth battle for the Premiership. Every league match played by both teams since Christmas time has been a mini cup final. The incredible amount of injuries

Your article tries to be impartial review but fails by simply saying that "not even MU's first choice would have coped". In both games MU had only one of there first choice back four. This cost two goals in the first game and at least one in the 2nd and allowed Milan to play the way the did. The result would have been different if Milan had no Nesta, MAldini or Oddu for both matches. Milan are great team, Gattuso was superb, Kaka is great, but like MU they also lack a true striker, hopefully this will not stop them against L'pool.

Milan have hit the right form at the right time and with even afford to rest a considerable number of players in their matches with the depth they posses. They will i believe triumph in Athens and show English football a thing or two.
