It is all around us - Dimitar Berbatov fever. The young Bulgarian hitman is rated as one of the world's most talented strikers and for what? A mere £10m from German outfit Bayern Leverkusen.
Tottenham fans of late have been left in the dark as to whether Berbatov will pledge his loyalty to Martin Jol and the White Hart Lane club after hitting 22 goals in all competitions this season with two games still to go. And I can assure all Spurs fans that the future of Berbatov has been decided, despite rumours linking him with a summer transfer to Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool.
It is no wonder that the Bulgarian is drawing attention. His peripheral vision and awareness is sharp and his first touch on the ball is sublime. At 26, there is a lot more to come from him and next year will prove a tough test. However, Jol is intent on keeping thim.
Tottenham's prospects look good and with rumours of a stadium and team upgrade, Champions League football is not out of the question. Berbatov's agent Emil Dantchev has said the striker is happy at the Lane so hopefully we can continue the tradition of keeping our best players - Michael Carrick excepted.
The big question at present is whether, with only two games to go in the Premiership, Berbatov can push Spurs into a fifth-place finish, as well as adding to his goal tally.

Shock! Horror! the manure and chavs want Our star player. Don't panic , they wont get him because unlike them he has Dignity and honour and will therefore remain at Tottenham, until his contract is up for renegotiation. Should we have fulfilled his ambition of CL football and still be improving. There may be no reason for him to look elsewhere. COYS

1 - The "earn spurs" line is tired and old. 2 - When will Ferguson be punished for constantly trying to tap people up through the media?

"Tottenham fans of late have been left in the dark as to whether Berbatov will pledge his loyalty to Martin Jol" Have they? I'm sure I heard Berbatovs agent on 5Live 2 nights ago saying he would stay - that's not being kept in the dark is it? The thing that is annoying me is the constant speculation when it isn't needed.
