Manchester United can finish off a super season with a great double by whipping arch-rivals Chelsea at the new Wembley in the FA Cup Final. Sir Alex Ferguson's Premiership champions have achieved one of their most impressive successes by winning the Premiership title with a squad that is paper-thin in most departments, but richly thick in talent.

Chelsea have oodles of quality players to call on, thanks to billionaire owner Roman Abramovich, enough to form three Premiership class teams in fact. But this season they will be remembered for just one trophy win - the League Cup - and that's the smallest one of the lot. But the word is out that Jose Mourinho is in for another top award . . . at Cruft's!

Jose's dogged determination was highlighted in the week by his run-in with the quarantine cops when they turned up at his London home to take away the family's pet Yorkshire terrier. Mourinho, as you would expect, was having none of it, and while some may think he is barking, he made sure the mutt continued to enjoy its freedom by throwing it loose in the street.

It was last seen showing its homing instinct, runnning hard up Elland Road in Leeds in a bid to become the West Yorkshire club's latest mascot. Is that a Dennis Wise move, though? No doubt chairman Ken Bates will keep it on a tight leash.

Back to the Final and it's a mouthwatering clash in prospect. Didier Drogba, one of the season's top strikers, versus United's rock-hard centre back Nemanja Vidic. All-round ace Wayne Rooney up against England team-mate and that great commander of respect, John Terry. And Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs battling it out in midfield with Frank Lampard, Joe Cole and the rest of Chelsea's quality crew.

I take United to run out 3-1 winners, sending Jose back to his kennel with no Winalot in his bowl. Come on you Red Devils!
