Bit confused by the article - starte out making he was a midfielder and then finished saying he was a striker. Surely we are in the market for a left winger ??

We really need to make next season the year we finish in the top 4. To establish ourselves as a top 4 club will take a number of years and we need to do it before players like Berby, King and Lennon (who are capable of playing in the top 4) become discontent and move on leaving us in exactly the same position as we were a number of years ago. The imminent signing of Gareth Bale is a great indication of willingness to buy for the future but is it enough to keep Berby at the club? Will he really be impressed by the club spending £10m on a 17 year-old. Hopefully, Bale will develop into a world class star but we also need some of Europe's best, like Berbatov. I head a rumour this morning about Wesley Sneijder, who would be a fantastic signing for us. Keita sounds great and the addition of Kaboul will also help strengthen our squad. Next season is a big season for spurs which will either make or break our squad. Our youth system is developing well so now it is time for Jol to sign a proven star on the European st

he does not say that at all but that he has the ability of a striker, keita would be perfect in centre holding midfield as backup behind the front two. He could be a striker, LOOK AT HIM !!

While I have some doubts about spending £10m on a 17 year-old youngster from a Championship team I feel that we have to trust Comolli & Jol on this. Last summer's big purchases - Berbatov, Zokora & Chimbonda - have all improved the team and can only get better. I feel that Pedersen would be a shrewd target & Jagielka too for his versatility which would allow Spurs to move on a few under-performers to other clubs - I'm thinking here of Gardner, Tainio, Ghaly, Murphy, Ziegler & a few others. The left side is key to the team's chances of progress next season along with a greater defensive organization and determination not to concede at set pieces or from long-distance. A really competitive reserve 'keeper (Niemi?)would put Robbo on his toes. Come on you Spurs!
this same author wrote another article about sneijder earlier on and it looks fairly likely to go to plan. Keita would be awesome at our club as would kaboul and bale. COYS!!!

From what i have seen he is class, he plays on the right but seems to be two footed so he could play anywhwere, a real talent andi would love to see him at the lane, magic feet.
by Robin on May 24, 2007
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPZM_8eIXG0 two footed, seems to play mostly on the right though but what a player he looks. 25, team mate of zok, could switch wings with lennon. sign him up!
by tom linton on May 24, 2007
we need a left-back and close free-kick taker so bale will be a valuable buy. We need mortan-gamst pederesen or someone on left-wing as lennon is far better on the right
by Neil on May 24, 2007
I just watched a video on you tube of him....OMG he is exactly what we need on the left...pace, skill MJ break the bank ...coys

The delay built into the Bale saga says he is trying to get United to bid for him, and that's where he will finish up. Regarding the Ivory Coast player he sounds brilliant but does it make sense to have both critical mid-fielders away for 2 months during the African Nations cup?

forget fourth we want that premiership!!!
by leon on May 24, 2007
wow i just seen that video he looks amazin wat a plyer he is. Come on spurs buy him soon!!!!
by J on May 24, 2007
Robben's father just said it was still possible for him to go to bayern if they offered him a five year deal... Surely we can compete with a team that finishes 4th in the bundersleague... get on the case Jol..... Robben on the left Lennon on the right... now were talking...!
by enrique on May 24, 2007
i reckon that if spurs want it big then challenge the top 3 to make a statement. Or who knows even higher we all know we have the potential to do it just not always the belief. Be Ambitious!!
Robben is good but know way could he content with Keita in midfield. plus hes a diving piece of scum he can go to germany maybe they'll teach him some real football!
by Jollygood on May 24, 2007
The problem is...Zokora, Ghaly, and this guy will miss 6-7 games in January for AFC....oh well, spurs have 19 midfielders...no problemo!
by nathan on May 24, 2007
bale will be a great left back for any premiership outfit got my fingers crossed for spurs to get him
by 61 and never again on May 24, 2007
hahaha you spuds wasting more money on an african dud player..more english players out and more french / african coming in..and you took the mick out of arsenal .when lennon goes, you realise 80goals a season from your goalkeeper is not good enough. dawson just an average centre back who will be a squad player and defoe and jenas end up at wigan or birmingham and didly king retires from his injurys, you will be a team of entire FORIEGNERS HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. if you can't beat them join them!!!!!!!! FOYS FOYS FOYS spurs 2 titles in 100+ year history THE ARSENAL 2 titles won at the lane!!!!! hahahahahahah

Arsenal... fourth place. Well done. Now can we move on?
It looks as if Spurs are going to make some bad signings to me: BALE - A 17 year old unproven and unexperianced prodogy for £10 million is a huge rip off (Hes not that good)and he has just 1 year on his contract. KABOUL - £8 mill for an unexperienced under 21's player is also a rip off, plus he has only 1 year left on his contract. MORGAN GAMST PEDERSON - a great crosser of the ball but his all round play is worse than malbranque or ghaly and for £10 million also a rip off. BENT - a good striker but around £10 mill for a 3rd striker who isnt as good as jermain defoe (hence the difference in amount of england caps) the only thing bent has against defoe is size and that is not good enough so that is also a rip off. NAKAMURA - the latest rumour is that they are set to make a £10 million bid and he is probably worth less than £5 mill based on his all round ability(not just the goals against man utd) FRED - Not the youngest and not the best and there is no doubt he will cost alot, could maybe k

and last year when Spurs signed Brbatov for 10.9 mils, and Chimbond fo 4.5 mils you also said that spurs were wasting money on 'crap players' from 'crap league'.

True.Fact..Spurs goalkeepr,Robinson Scored more goal than Arsenal's world cup hero (plastic) walcott!
by spurs 2161 on May 24, 2007
i agree all english players are over rated by you little englanders.walcott was only picked by erickson to say f You to th FA for sacking him.. and not picking more strikers was another 2 fingers up at them.If you could not see that then you have to wake up and smell the coffee.. if i remember right your lot wanted walcott just as bad as we did at the time or have you a selective memory there? azza to man utd then there will be tears at the lane!!!!why do you think keita is being tracked?after scholes GBH on him he has realised that if he stays he will win f all and will have to follow teddy sol and carrick and leave the lane for success..berby will too but not this year! didly king is taking his pension now (retirement)after signing his contract and will finish career in january!!
by 2161 spurs on May 24, 2007
that loyal pascal chumponda has said he wants to leave the spuds.. barbitoss will be gone too next year.. but you will make money on both! when i said waste money i meant on the dud zakora and jenas
