Sporting Lisbon midfielder Nani has been subject to many rumours of a possible switch to one of Europe's top clubs, including the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea.

Spurs are reportedly in talks with the Portuguese club over the possibility of a summer move for the £13.5m rated midfielder. Martin Jol would like to add him to create a wider, more attacking midfield.

Nani has been highly recommended to Manchester United by his Portugal team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo, though it looks as though the Old Trafford club have lost interest, paving the way for Tottenham to break the bank.

Nani is said to be interested in a move to the Premiership and a £13.5m move to Spurs would hardly dent Tottenham's cash, compared to the amounts they have spent in previous years. All Spurs fans, including me, agree that we need some pace, so I guess Nani is one of those people to run alongside the likes of 'speedy' Aaron Lennon' et al.

The left-back void appears to be filled now by youngster Gareth Bale, who is said to have agreed personal terms with the north London outfit two nights ago. After passing a medical at White Hart Lane, the 17-year-old Wales defender looks set to wear a lilywhite shirt for the remainder of what may be a very successful career.

Not forgetting also that Spurs are set to clinch the signature of defender Younes Kaboul from Auxerre in the next 48 hours. The left wing is a big priority for Tottenham next season, so Jol will have to bide his time for a hot property to become available. Blackburn's Morten Gamst Pedersen or Lille's Kader Keita look most likely players to fill this gap come summer.

Jol looks set to smash open the piggy bank in the transfer window, so it looks like it will be an exciting transfer window for all Spurs fans - including me!
