Poor article, the fact you mention we have not moved a muscle depite two free signings already confirmed in Sidwell and Pizzario(we'll ignore the 2 younger English talents we've signed as well). We don't need major signings, just cover and that is being addressed. Displaying such ignorance and/or bias takes the credibility away from your views in my opinion.

Apparently Chelsea have already handed the title to ManU. The bookies certainly don't agree. As you point out, they have Chelsea and ManU as joint favourites. Think about that: the current title holders are not even the bookies' clear favourites, which demonstrates that they consider that Chelsea have just as much chance as ManY to win, despite not splashing out in the transfer market. In my world that is not the same as handing the title to United.

No new signings.....where did you read this. So far we have 2 freebies .. Sidwell and Pizaro and are still looking at 1 or 2 more. Yet another poorly based article written with no real facts or figures behind it. Wait till the start of the season to see who has brought what and then write an article., No point writing something 2 weeks or so after the season has finished.

If Chelsea avoid the key long term injuries they had last season they will be right with you. There signings have added depth to the squad - they don't need the quality, just depth and it's quality that costs - and there is more to come from Chelsea in the transfer market. The last time you tipped Man Utd to win - the FA Cup Final - you lost

YOU ARE RIGHT ON A LOT OF THINGS, THE TITLE WILL ONLY GO ONE WAY, MAN UTD WILL BE A LOT STONGER NEXT SEASON AND WILL WIN BY MORE POINTS, ALEX FERGUSON IS TO CLEVER FOR JOSE, AND THE FA CUP FINAL! YES MAN U LOST BUT NO TEAM DESERVED TO WIN THAT GAME, ITS VERY HARD TO PLAY TEAMS LIKE CHELS AND LIV WHO JUST DEFEND FOR THERE LIVES, MAN UTD PLAY THE BEST FOOTBALL THE WORLD HAS EVER SEEN, WELL DONE FERGIE,

I as a Man United Fan, am thrilled to hear 3 new amazing players will play in our club next year. as for chelsea.. well it's true that they only have bought a few cheap signings... but look at the date... there is still so much more time to spend more money on players before the season starts... so the theory of manutd already winning the 2007/2008 title is false.

what a laughable article. On the one hand you are happy to suggest that the amount of quality in the Chelsea dressing room may be putting players off while on the other suggesting that Chelsea don't have enough quality. Maybe I shouldn't have given you the satisfaction of getting the reaction you obviously wanted when you wrote this piece. Surely you didn't believe that Manchester United's signings have "sealed" the title? Just because Chelsea havn't spent does not mean anything is concluded. I remember Arsenal signing one Jnas Lehman as their biggest piece of business and finnishing that seaon unbeaten. You would have been better off setting off a debabte about whether Chelseas continuity may actually contribute to or may be their downfall rather than this patently knee jerky article. Try to challenge your readers please! This is trash!!! Remember last season we signed Sheva and Bollocks and ended up losing out on the title. Its not as simple as that. I agree that Chelseas new spending policy should be the

New signings wont be able to join their new club before the 1.july anyway. So Chelsea are i no rush. In edition to Sidwell and Pizaro, Chelsea have also sign/brougth back Alex from PSV who singel handed killed Arsenals CL-dream. Chelsea are also pretty close to sign som other big names like the Brazilian international Daniel Alves(right-back) and Loyons left-winger Maluda. Shevchenko will probably crawl back to his beloved Milan, and if my dreams come trough(they usually do) Tevez will join Chelsea in the next couple of weeks. We are in the first week of June, so i think its a bit early to write of Chelsea PL chance's just yet.

I am a man u fan but honestly, next years title is far from in the bag, the chelsea squad is still capable of winning the premiership, BUT, i do think that there are several factors behind the chelsea hesitation, lets be honest chelsea over the least two or three years have shown no mercy in the market place for transfers. swooping aside man u every time and we were the biggest spenders in england until 2004. rumers are that abromavich has said you have had 400 million off me now stand on your own two feet. ask your self why? could it be that as it stands he is worth probably just over half what he was this time last year, number one a 2.9 billion pound divorse from his wife and £800 million put in to trust funds for his children(before you chelsea fansstart having a go that isaccording to the times newspaper in the finacnial section at around xmas not some paper like the sun). 2 putin finally got his way 3 months ago for abromavich has financed the russion olimpics, and neally £700 million now tied up in c
chelsea. right let me think multi billionaire how will he manage his assets keep it all in the bank earning about 4% or have it in long term investments.. i bet you with a fortune the size he has his advisers will be doing a lot of restructuring, restructuring that does not include handing another £100 million to chelsea to waste on past its like shenchevco.point 2. as sky sports keep saying the wage bill for chelseais £129 million last year chelsea earned 165 million acording to the delotte rich list, but this year no 30 million prize money for winning the premiership (you only get one million for the fa cup) and because of the way sponcership deals work with champions league first and second place chelsea will get aproximatly 10 million less for entering it this year, which nowmeans that all your incomes do not even cover the wage bill. i think the combination of the above isthe real reason why lampard and terry contract negotiations have brokern down, i think this is the reason why youare signing freebys
that normally you would pass by and go pick up some one world class like essian. i do think chelsea will spend this season and spend heavily dont get me wrong but i think it will be just like every other club, and do it by doing something that they have not done for a while.. by living within there means, i think shevchenco will go but i reacon they will probably get about half of what they paid for him, lampard will go and buy him self out for afresh challange with his old boss at juve for aprox 7 million and i think you might even see out of favour robben go for 17 million with the extra money i am sure kenyon will find from somewhere thats still a 50 million war chest, which is still going to be i would say in the top 5 spenders around europe this season with only may be real madrid barca manu and juve comeing close.. so not really a big catastorphy.welcome back to the realworld chelsea supporters. (i am sure i will get some stick for this one i am actually expecting it, chelsea supporters will ignore th
the fact that i have praised there team by saying they are already good enough to win the premiership and just hurl abuse at me, fine i will say now that well everyhing i have said here is baised on educated guesses and things you read in reputalbe newspaper (the times) it does go along way to explaining why things are as they are at the moment and i bet 50 million with a few sales is not to far of the mark but anyway here comes the abuse!!!!!)
Just want to point out a few stories that United fans may not have seen. Roman has said money is not an issue, nothing has changed and he will provide funds if required. Jose has said he will not need to spend big we have done our spending. I do not expect us to spend big except for 1 player, possibly a right back. Last reports I saw (Delloitte's) lst week he is worth twice as much as he was when he bought Chelsea in 2003, and this includes his divorce settlement and a few boats nd planes.

You do know that the transfer window is open until Aug 31st don’t you? You don’t have to blow your load in May in order to sign half decent players. Some will become available in June, July and yes even August! Plenty of time yet for everybody to out trump Utd on the transfer front.

Man U won last year not cos of Ronaldo, but more cos of Scholes and Giggs - both home grown Utd players. Carrick costs too much and even SAF said so. In the end he wasnt all that influential and with Hargreaves in, he may well be sidelined. So SAF likes to spend but he doesnt always get the results. Veron, Forlan etc were all big buys but didnt deliver. Last season was a fluke cos of Scholes and Giggs' Indian Summer. Man U cant believe it will happen again. Money doesnt buy success - ask Ballack, Sheva & Cole. For that matter, ask Benitez whom someone pointed out bought 30 players in 3 years. On paper, Man U look good now, but so then did Chelsea at the start of 2006/2007, as did Liverpool and even Arsenal. Dont judge too early. All may not be as it seems.

Too eraly to say, Philip. The Spanish league hasnt even ended so seeing where Alves and Eto'o will go will have to wait till July at least. As far as scouting around France, Italy, Germany and England are concerned, that will take time. I think Jose will be adding a few players both to cover his defence as well as attack and to cover players off to the African Nations Cup in January. Jose isnt the type to rush unless its forced on him. So I wouldnt write stuff like this just yet. It tempts fate...

have I read such a load of nonsense. This article should be in Viz it's that funny. He bangs on about how 2008 season is over because Chelsea have not spent money in the same 'breath' as saying that maybe nobody wants to go to Chelsea because they might not be guranteed a starting place; why? Because of, and I quote, "sheer amount of talent currently plying their trade at the Bridge"!! So begs the question - why would a team with such talent need to go out and spend £50m? Doh!Chelsea are bringing in a potentially world class defender, a proven stiker who may not be in the world's top 10 but is no Peter Crouch either. A slightly unknown in Sidwell, who could be anything from a squad player to the next Frank Lampard. If anything, Man Utd needed reinforecements because if Chelsea can survive next season without the appaling injuries that hit them last season they are going to need it
by Rob on June 06, 2007
I admit I am a biased Man Utd Fan, howevr I will never waste my time watching any game with Chelsea playing again. If Man utd played, or rather, didnt play leke Chelsea I would stop watching them. Chelsea are an appalling bad football team, if everybody played like chelsea the gamne would die. Face it I am miles in front of Chelsea, I get to watch Man U. Chelsea supporters you have my sympathy, you really must be satisfied with non football, defend at all costs.

what would we do without the silly season?? cant win can we... if we spent zillions we are buying teh championship...if we dont buy we are loosers if it aint broke dont fix it....4 more goals at the rite time and we would have the lot, so the present team is not that bad isnt it? we will have a problem in january due to the african championship..so sidwell and pizarro have been brought in..boula will be replaced by alex and i would not be surprised if there was another surprise...they are talking the market down in order not to be forced to pay silly money....tevez would be fun.. if lampard goes, so be it .. nobody is bigger than the club and nobody is irreplacable.....

Let's be honest here - Chelsea will make purchases this season. It may be that they, like Liverpool, seem to be waiting for the close season in Spain to dip into the market. It may be that they're waiting for their own negotiations to come through, and have decided to do things quietly. What we all know, quite clearly, is that Chelsea are far more likely to purchase a player than not. There is nothing to the fact that Abramovich hasn't got enough money left - he would never have put any in if he could have been left in this situation (he's not a billionaire (and the cash-richest billionaire in the world) for nothing). Do not think that the season is over already. Note, if you please, how long it took Drogba to settle into Chelski's setup. If Shevchenko & Ballack are in the same mould - be afraid.
yes you are right mate he is worth twice as much aswhen he bought chelsea,9before the divorse) that is due to the fact of the instability of the iraqwar and the massive destruction of two big oil production facilitys in america and the refinements, he saw his chance and took it and sold his land in russia which all his oil wellsare on, so all he has done is liquidised his assets mate nothing else, demand increase so priceson supple increased he was offered the right price, but the po9int is that money no longer produces him 700 million a year profits from oil plusall his other investrments. anyway we will see i still think you will see some players go, anyway stop hanging on to abromavich you done need him as much nowas 4 years ago, you have a500 million pound squad that half of them dont get regulare games anyway, dont be greedy sell a few to buy a few
