All the recent hype about Younes Kaboul has mushroomed in the last couple of days, with reports suggesting that the Auxerre defender has passed a medical with 'flying colours' at Tottenham.
The French club have fleeced Spurs for approximately £7.5 million in total, 20 per cent of which will be paid on appearences and the 6 ft 4in stopper's progression at Spurs. It is very likely that we will receive official news of his signing in the next few weeks.
With Kaboul lining up alongside the likes of Michael Dawson, Ledley King and Ricardo Rocha, our defence will be somewhat formidable on both the Premiership and European fronts - with a combination of youth and finesse as well as experience.
The inclusion of Southampton left-back Gareth Bale will most definitely provide some bite to the squad. Known as a dead-ball specialist, the teenager will hopefully be our prize asset, as his playing options are said to be more flexible than most people would think.

Who the hell is Kaboul? what a waste of money, and as for Bale he's just a show pony, once again Spurs will not finish in the top four. Get Real!

You are an idiot 'big dave' who had heard much of berbatov before he came to england ?. Oh and let's compare Kaboul with some of your great value buys like Veron, Kalid Boulauseless, Paulo F or even the gem of them all shevchenko and you talk about us wasting money ?. Pot, kettle springs to mind pal

There have been a lot of reports of the last few days suggesting that Martin Petrov is injured again and that he's always injured. This is not true and the fact he played for Bulgaria last night and scored speaks for itself and quashes stupid tales of his lates injury! He's a great player and would help Spurs progress. End of story.

I am getting tired of all the bull in the press about overblown transfers. First Zakora was only about 6 million not 8 million. Mido 3.5 not 5, Chimbonda 4.25 not 5.5 and now Kaboul is only 4.5 not 7.5. As for Big Dave I'ld rather have this lot then Pizzaro(can't manage many games or goals for Bayern), Sidwell (BENCHWARMER)or any of the other crappy signings Chelsea are having to make now that your sugar daddy has abandoned you. I mean can you see yourself winning anything when Drogba, Essien, Kalou and Obi Mikel are all going to be gone for 4-6 weeks at one of the busiest parts of the season and you have toss to replace them? Get real Man Utd are going to crush you by an even bigger margin this season and I don’t think you’ll even have the Carling or FA Cup to cheer you up!!!

our benchwarmers were precisely the reason why we won so many games in the last quarter.... check out the link above and tell me how crap pizarro is...one goal every 2.5 games aint that bad in germany... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfkjL-7zRcc

Badly researched article, riddled with muddled thinking. There is almost nothing to commend it. Firstly, Luke Durkin can have no idea how much Spurs have paid or will pay for Kaboul - unless he is a slave to tabloid rumour. Secondly, he has probably never seen Kaboul play, other than in a few youtube clips. Kaboul is regarded, by those in France who have seen a lot of him, as already a very good player with the potential to become a world class defender. On what basis, therefore, does Luke feel himself qualified to assert that Spurs have been "fleeced" for Kaboul? With regard to Gareth Bale, while he may occasionally be deployed in left midfield for Spurs, that hardly constitutes "a variety of attacking positions", does it? As to Martin Petrov, I suggest that, in future, Luke digs a bit deeper than some randomly chosen quotes. Petrov is not injured. He played last night for Bulgaria and scored a cracking goal. Petrov suffered a bad knee injury at the beginning of last season and it is entirely normal that, a

"What a waste of money" ?? coming from a fan of a club who spent £30mil on a has been. Not to mention the £20+mil on SWP who hardly plays. I could go on but it really is too easy!

From this article it shows the bitterness that Chavski fans feel towards the club who will be the best in london within the next 2 years. Your club is riddled with players who have been a waste of money yet you take time to criticise any signings or possible signings some before you've even seen them play. You are a first class pleb

Time will tell, Spurs are on the up! Chelski will slowly start to slip. When Roman leaves with all his cash & the special one's heads to spain. Poor old Chelski will be what they were before a YoYo team. Anyone heard of that team called Leeds Utd! Anyone ?
i for one couldnt give a toss who u sign....either they ll be a waste of money or if they are good , they ll leave to go to big club anyway...
by Yidtastic on June 07, 2007
Waste of Money? Del Horno, Veron, Crespo, Mutu, SWP, Shevchenko, Jarosik, Smertin, Parker, Duff, Belarazu (or however you spell it)

martin petrov is injured and its not just a little rumour he even said so himself so either my sources are incorrect or you are little bullshitters. Either one i dont really care! here is the source if you want it! Long time Spurs target Martin Petrov has once again been troubled with a knee injury and tests performed have revealed cartilage damage to the right knee. Martin Jol has been keen to bring the Bulgarian to White Hart Lane to fill his troublesome left- hand side position but may now be put off by Petrov's ongoing injury problems. Petrov said, "It will be difficult to play in such a condition, I still feel the pain,"

A 'big' club, not Chelsea surely?, your a small petty club, just happen to have a rich man at the helm, now Spurs a big, profitable, well supportive, over subscribed..have history, passion, pride and purpose and dont Chelsea envy us..or else why do your fans keep on at us?, its because Chelsea just aint Spurs, no class see, just the bucks...at the mmoent!
by yid on June 07, 2007
chelsea are just dosh thats it. Chimbona wont go to you either he has class. If he had any sesne he'd repel a move to Chelsea to another top european team.
its so much fun...
by Essexain76 on June 07, 2007
Has Kabul even signed for us yet?, no I dont know either, as for Bale..who knows?, now that is a 10 million pound question, who knows.I hope Lennon becomes the player we hope he will be, who knows?, I hope Berba stays until Sheringham draws his state pension, who knows?, I hope King remains injury free, who knows?, I hope Chelsea do a Leeds, Who knows?, or Henry does a Campbell in reverse, who knows?
so how often did u beat us in the 15 years before roman turned up.. excluding the league cup...
by spurs on June 07, 2007
now then lets see, all these chelsea fans who think we're wasting OUR money, i hav ful trust in martin jol and obviously his signins so far hav been up to scratch with the likes of, berbatov, chimbonda, huddlestone, lennon, malbraque and zokora they are al internationals and u21s, and im sure any club in the prem would take them, even chelsea!! but the millions that roman has blown on the poor quality players that you see in the papers. shevva hes a long gone, and you still have faith in him. you managed to scrape victory at white hart lane in the 2nd leg of the semi final of the fa cup and you still down talk spurs of a top 4 finish??? is this the reult of fear? of is it just being foolish!
