If Henry leaves for Liverpool i will eat my hat...and scarf..and season ticket!
by Ray Mond 007 on June 08, 2007
I would like to think of myself as the number 1 Liverpool fan ....love the club to bitts ...even suport it blindly at times ... but, mmmmmh this could be pushing the envilope a bit .... Well if Rafa does manage to bring Thierry to Liverpool then you might as well engrave the Cups before the season starts. On a different note I think Arsenal looks more like a sinking ship that is just too heavy for Henry to shoulder ... I hear Wenger & Cesc are not so sure they will stay as well so emagine this ... no Dein, no Wenger, no Thierry, no Cesc ....mmmmh do I smell relegation?

As long as I can remember, liverpools strike force has been, shall we say lacking lustre since owen/fowler combo back in the day. Crouch, Bellamy, Kuyt are good players but lack the kind of quality found in a player of Henry's standard. If ever there was a team to win the League for us it would be one with a combination of Gerrard and Henry that I feel would drive us to success after so many years

I am a liverpool fan and henry is my favourite player outside the club but i dont think he will come to liverpool infact i dont think he should move to any other club in england.. just wont work.. imagine gerrard at arsenal.. its just plain wrong.. However if this miracle does happen.. you might as well give us two trophies next season.. dont even bother.. also i would feel for arsenal fans watching henry at liverpool.. the thought when SG almost moved to chelsea was frightening and i wouldnt wish that on anyone.. so henry stay at arsenal cause liverpool fans like the ambassodr he is.. and honestly arsenal need to get a grip.. they are plungnig by the day

absolute rubbish theres more chance of me joining liverpool than henry!! anyone who gives the story any credit must have no idea about football what so ever... total sh*t!!!
by Redtop on June 08, 2007
I would love to know where this rumour started. If he had been linked to chelski or man usa then I could understand it, but liverpool finished just as far away from the top as we did, so he is hardly going to jump at joining a team as far away as they are. At least arsenal's squad is young & can improve, but liverpool's better players are already in their peak, Gerrard, Alonso & Carragher etc. Maybe liverpool have loads of cash to spend (or so the new owners keep saying) but so far they have done nothing to prove it.

As a Liverpool fan I would love to see him at Anfield, however unlikley that such a move would be. I do take issue with your comments on our team though..OK were not the side that dominated football for 30 years but we beat Barcelona and Chelsea and all that was missing against an ordinary Milan side was some quality up front. With that we'd be Champions of europe for the second time in 3 years. Why wouldn't an ambitious player sign for us?

Look, I am Arsenal through and through and yesw my heart sank and i felt physically sick at the thought of Arsenal losing Henry to the Mickey Mousers. Let him leave, he obviuosly doesnt feel right to stay at the Arsenal and there is no need to keep a player who doesnt have a 100%. Remember, it has not been henry who has made Arsenal what it is today but good ol' Arsene. He is the key to Arsenal and a hell of a lot mo0re valuable than henry to the club. Have faith in Wenger, he always and I mean always repays u8s 1000 fold. keep the faith and chin up - henry leaving is not all that bad!!

As a Liverpool fan i too would love to see him at Anfield. He's a great player and would get us the goals that we are lacking. I don't know if anyone remembers an interview with him a while back and he did say he loves Liverpool, the fans the club etc.... so who knows? Maybe he will come! I hope so :-)

I like Liverpool!!! I like their fans and I like their team. So because of that I'm not gonna be rude. Henry would NEVER go to Liverpool....EVER!!! As a few people have mentioned, not only did 'Pool finish level on points with us (and our team is far younger than theirs), but it'd also be like Gerrard coming to Arsenal. Gerrard is a great great player, but he is Liverpool. Henry may go this season (tho I don't think he will, papers doctor interviews to make up stories and that's mainly what's happened recently), but if he does it'll be to a team that's outside England

the fact that henry is being linked with a move to liverpool is an honour, liverpool are a great team and henry is a great player. so wots wrong with dreamin
by Simon on June 08, 2007
Firstly, I don't think you can compare Gerrard with Henry, since Henry hasn't been with Arsenal since he was 8 and has never confessed to being a die-hard Arsenal supporter. The only similarities is they are both captains and insprirational for their clubs. Henry is a fantastic player, probably the best striker to grace the Premiership, and for Arsenal to lose him would be a massive blow, but somehow I can't quite see it. Even when you consider that Henry has mentioned how much he admires the Anfield crowd and how much respect he has for Stevie (prob cos he keeps passing back to you while on the opposite side, Thierry!). Nah, jokes on the last one :) At the end of the day, as Liverpool fans who have been starved of a decent striker since Owen pre-injury, we will quite understandably jump at any story such as this. The one reason I don't think it'll happen though is that Henry has said in the past that he couldn't play for another English team in the Premiership, but for people to completely r

im a red and i really cant see any truth in this rumour. whilst henry is world class player he's also 29 and would cost far too much for the length of time he has left in his career. if he only cost 10 to 15 mill maybe but if anyone thinks arsenal would be willing to deal for that kind of money they'd hjave to be nuts

You say Liverpool aren't a very good side but AC Milan are! I must have been watching the wrong Champions League final then!? Maybe he could take this mainly young Liverpool team, which is improving every year to the next level. Wouldn't it be great to be associated with the team that brings the League title back where it belongs.
by poolio on June 08, 2007
scooch, you mentioned you have a younger team than liverpool, you might want to check the average age against ours and youll find yours is 1 year older

Nope it's all crap. I understand something had to be written here in light of all the talk lately, most notably the betting fiasco. As you correctly stated Mark, the tabloids need to fill the void. A good friend of mine even cited from a 'reliable source' that Henry had been seen at Melwood on Wednesday, Carson in part exchange, etc. Quite how so much information can be gleaned from a simple viewing is beyond me. I can only assume this 'reliable source' was also clairvoyant. What surprises me is that this story has gained such momentum but then it is worthy of note that none of the websites you would usually acredit with true stories have even given an indication there may be something in it. Similarly neither Liverpool, Arsenal nor Henry himself have mentioned a single word either denying or confirming this crap. In truth they probably aren't even aware of it. It won't happen. Rest easy Gooners! Still, on this vein, Pele is being fitted with bionic limbs and signing for Portsmouth! Harry Redknapp and his ke

I think it's unlikely that we can land Henry. He did say earlier in the year that if he were going to play for another English team it would be Liverpool in order to be able to play in front of the Kop and with Gerrard, however he also felt that he had been too long at Arsenal to go to another English side, but we can always hope!
by Paul B on June 08, 2007
I'd personal carry him her if he'd come but most Liverpool fans know that there's no real substance to this story and that the reports of his presence at Melwood are, well, utter moonshine! Still, it's be nice.....

This journalist is....obviously his foreign blood blinkers him from understanding what LFC is about and the history therein.

He is not going anywhere. His interview was designed to buck up the Arsenal board of whom he is very frustrated. He loves Arsenal too much but is clearly frustrated with a Dein going and a lack of big name signings. The board will be forced to get their act together.
Completley disagree with you there. Arsenal are lacking if anything, we have finished above them the last two years and look the stronger of the two. We also have a lot of youth to come through plus experience to show them the ropes. Alonso at his peak? He's not even 25 yet, does that mean Henry is past it or Gilberto is a has been? Muppet

I sincerly doubt Liverpool would be seen as only a very good team if we had won the Champions League this year. The second final in three years, both against A.C who havw a "star studded" team... if they do then so do then so do Liverpool. Take into consideration that Milan are an aging team, with... expeirence of many years in top flight football, the idea that they are seen as "star studded" baffels me. Liverpool have and always had one thing potential, in the same way as Rooney had potentila at Everton, he was very good there but we had a sense he could be better. He is with age and tution from perhaps the best manager that United ever had. Not that I would know I have been blessed with taste and I happen to support Liverpool. Therefore my bias comes into play, all we need is one maybe wo more complete articles for our team and get rid of about five players. I don't want to name them I think the majority of Liverpool fans know anyway. In my opinon, however biased it may be Liverpool have been and will

I'll willing to wager that the way this nonsense got going was someone in Liverpool saying they saw Henry at a Restaurant with Gerrard, etc. etc. The REASON for it is called Betfair. You get a rumour going, get the odds on it happening shortened, and then lay off the gullible fools who bet on the rumour, because you know full well that the rumour is invented nonsense. The ironic thing is that Betfair is based in Stevenage; 70% of its employees are Arsenal fans, and so, very indirectly, these rumours are helping to pay Henry's wages!
by wiburforce on June 08, 2007
it will never happen, at best its a sideways step for him, and for him to leave Arsenal it would have to be to bigger and better things. liverpool are neither bigger or better.
by Kevin on June 08, 2007
I think Henry is the most talented player in the world respected on & off the pitch, it would be a fantastic signing since Daglish. Henry's attitude & professionalism is what Football is all about
