Thierry Henry was seen driving into Liverpool's Melwood training ground last week - and apparently reports on local Merseyside radio appeared to substantiate it.

Henry has been linked with a move away from the Emirates for a while now and the departure of top boardroom man David Dein has heightened all the adverse speculation circulating around the Gooners - so much so that manager Arsene Wenger allegedly returned from holiday in a bid to calm the unrest amongst his players. Although Liverpool with their new American owners, are showing as much ambition as a lot of Premiership clubs right now, I don't see a move to Anfield as being the best option for the enigmatic Frenchman. Especially as Rafa Benitez's future in the Anfield hot seat is still far from certain.

Henry has already been there and done it in the Premiership with Arsenal anyway. He needs a new challenge with a top Continental club now and the prestige and potential of one of the top Italian or Spanish clubs would be most appealing. I can definitely see Henry at Barcelona's Camp Nou, or wearing a Juventus, Milan, or Real Madrid shirt next season.

Chelsea would definitely be interested too and the likes of West Ham and Tottenham continue to surprise a lot of people with their cash-laden moves to get right into the big time. Wishful thinking has defined many a London supporter for years. I suppose you would have to include Manchester United amongst any potential Premiership bidders as well. After all, they are being linked with everybody and anybody at the moment, - the Hammers' Carlos Tevez being the latest. But really can anyone see Henry leaving for another club in England?

But it's Henry for Italy or Spain for me, not Knotty Ash or Gold Trafford.

Don't forget though folks, it's the silly season. So while anything can happen, a lot of it probably won't. But it's all good clean fun and more than keeps the interest going while we are waiting for the friendlies and next season's fixture lists to be announced.
