Everyone is panicking about not buying anyone, I would be very worried if it was August and not June. We will strengthen the squad but I belive it will be through La Liga. We bought Levia right under the noses of the major clubs in Europe. They have worked on a new stadium, tied our best players down to long term contracts, jamie, stevie, xabi and pepe. Xabi had the chance to join Barca... if things were so bad behind the scenes then our top players would be having doubts, as they are not this should tell all the fans that plans are in place and players are targeted in the right positions. We need a striker and 2 wingers, I can see all these coming from La Liga which ends Sunday. This time next week we may be talking about how well the Yanks have backed us... until then stay calm!!

Liverpool won't do anything until the La Liga season is over......try re-posting this in two weeks. Then it will be relevant

"if 'poor’ United have received substantial pocket money from their American daddies, why can’t we? " because united are richer, we won the league and had money left over from last years budget!

liverpool are as far away as ever as coming close to bopthering the big two! not a plan..there jus a joke!

Absolutely right! Lets have a bit of faith in Rafa & the Yanks. Torres, Malouda & one more to sign next week. Just wait & see!
Looks like you need to learn how to spell scum! Lets see if you are on this site at the end of next season!?!

Every one in world soccer no's Liverpool is the scum of Europe!! What kind of people steal tickets from there own fans?? You'll never win the league with 1 quality player and 30 average tossers!!
by David Carter on June 14, 2007
I think that Rafa has pleanty of money to spend on the players he wants & feels are right for Liverpool! Have faith in the manager and owners i believe some quality players will start to arrive very soon

Maybe if Liverpool had spent their money more wisely in the last few years instead of buying numpties like Gonzales you wouldn't have to cry about it. Rafa has signed 29 players since he took over and it is certainly not our fault that they are all mince. We have finally spent some cash after making a profit for the last few windows (and still won the league) and you feel the need to cry, poor show in my opinion.

All the LFC fans out here are asking the same questions you are. We don't know why the story has gone from a big kitty to pleeding poor again. My own guess is a large chunk is contingent on one big name striker signing (Eto'o, Teves, Torres, or Henry) and everything else will wait for that. Once that signing is made, Bellamy will be sold and the winger position will be filled. Everyone knows that forward is easily the most important signing this year for LFC. We need a world class creative consistent threat up front more than anything else, winger or otherwise. Only after that signing will we know what's left for the wings and defense. I would, however, like to remind you that all last year the ManU supporters were screaming about how awful it was to have American ownership. You guys were ridiculous in your rants about US ownership selling off your players and such. So I think maybe it's time for you guys to just stop with your idiotic rants and admit you have no idea what you're talking about. Patience?

Not until the Premiership can be decided on penalties

I think Houllier signed lots a numpties in his time at Anfield. Rafa? don't think so! he's brought in quality in Xabi, Garcia, Monster Mash, Kuyt, Agger, Reina, and i'd like Richard or should i say Dic* to name 29 players because i can't think of them!
by Richard on June 14, 2007
Here is the list, assuming you can read, and count to 29 http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/ premiership/liverpool/article1845157.ece

Liverpool will once again finish fourth in the premiership and lag atleast 30 points behind Man U and Chelsea. I dont think rafa will be given the cash he needs to bring in the sort of players we need to get to the next level. This has been proved today when Liverpool put in a bid for Benayoun. I dont think he is going to set the world alight, do you?. The yanks are only in it for the money!!!!!.
Gerrard aside I don't think there's 1 player that would get into United's or Chelski's side. If you want any chance of geting near United and Chelski next season you need 4 new strikers and 2 new wingers. Benitez seems to have an obsession with central midfield players when surely playing Gerrard and one of Alonso or Sissoko would prove more fruitful. Why does he continue to sign players like Lucas & mascherano when they play in positions where you have enough quality. As much as Benitez is a proven tactician I think he can be question in the transfer market. As long as Benitez is there u will continue to buy hard working defensive midfielders. Who wants to watch teams like that??
by Dave on June 14, 2007
Thanks for the list Dic*, I think there is a lot of quality in those signings with some players for the future! and yes your right some bad signings as well. I seriously think with a top class striker to partner crouch/kuyt and a couple of class wingers we will be very close to challenging for the title! can't wait to rub it in the mancs faces because most of my mates support the SCUM and they don't have a clue what their talking about!
Close!! Ur havin a laugh!!

We have no chance of breaking into the top 2 this season. If Rafa gets no money, then the next big story will Rafa Quits.
by A on June 14, 2007
Like other Liverpool supporters, I would like to know how much Rafa has got to spend and who is going to spend it on. However reading this post and the responses, I can only conclude that people here do not understand how to negotiate - you don't say to the world beforehand: "I have £X million and I want Joe Bloggs". If you do, you will probably get Joe Bloggs and only Joe Bloggs and you will pay way over the top. Please be patient and realistic guys and keep believing. YNWA

rafa benitez is over rated and hes had enough money and time to have run united and chelsea closer but alas the gaps getting even bigger 21 points is a huge gap to try and address especially with united adding further quality to a superior squad.watching liverpool play these days is a massive yawn compared to some of the great teams from the past they lack imagination ,flair and quality
by Cyrl on June 14, 2007
Rafa is waiting for La Liga to finish...ya hardly think hes going to buy someone from a country other than spain now do ya
Funny how united fans has the nerve to talk about signings ! Your team didn't do well in the market for ages, Kliberson, Djimba Dijmba, Shah, Smith and the list goes on ! Sorry mate these are all average players ! Regarding Liverpool only having one player and none would cut it to make the team ! Hold on ! Last year Masch was Alex's wet dream (well documented) ! And he wanted him again in the January Transfer window ! Alonso is world class ! One of the best passers in the game ! Or would the big spanish teams want to buy an average player ? I bet if Alonso have pulled on a Man UTD instead of LFC's shirt he would be the greatest player ever ! Man UTD must thank their stars for last season, I bet none of the UTD fans expected to win it ! So please spare us the immature footie talk, if you are not going to say something constructive, other than that you are more than welcome ! :)

Why would Liverpool need 4 new strikers whaen the ones they have scored more in the premiership last season than either Manu or Chelsea? (31-30-30 respectively). A nett spend of 44 million
