It seems that Preston Striker David Nugent's move to Sunderland may have been scuppered by, er, Aston Villa (The Sun) Martin O'Neill sees Nugent as a possible striker partner for Norwegian giant John Carew in what could prove to be a daunting pairing for opposition defences. With Nugent's love for Everton being well publicised I wouldn't rule out a last-minute move by David Moyes but I still score this as 8/10.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Manchester United and Liverpool are keeping a very close eye on Jermain Defoe's situation at Spurs and could swoop the moment Darren Bent arrives at White Hart Lane. However Spurs valuation of £12m is apparently a potential stumbling block for Defoe's potential suitors. The price seems perfectly reasonable to me but given that £16m is all it takes to secure Theirry Henry, I copuld be wrong. 7/10

wat is he doing trying to get rid of defoe like wat about mido hes some waste of a striker he scored like 2 goals and defoe scored like 18 and if hes going hes worth at least 14 mill because when he gets a few games under his belt he is a top class player

Please please, somebody tell me how Bent can b e worth £16M while Henry is off to Barca for the same price. If Spurs need a striker so badly why not pay the 16M for Henry instead ??? otherwise BENY owes the Spurs club and fans Big time next season

defoe is being sold so another sol campball situation happens, you know both have the same agent and are gonna fc uk us again as sol did!by letting his contract run out then take the transfer fee in wages( i for one miss big sol) he was my favourite but tommy hudd is taking over now! now now big mart tommys mine!!!
