Arsenal will be hoping that Arsene Wenger has a plan to replace prized asset Thierry Henry, West Ham’s Carlos Tevez and Bolton’s former Arsenal striker Nicolas Anelka are both being linked to the Emirates (various). Tevez at Arsenal has a nice ring to it and when you consider what he achieved at a below-par West Ham you can only imagine the kind of cult hero he could be at the Emirates. I rate these as 4/10 for Anelka and 8/10 for Tevez.

Manchester City are said to be interested in snatching back Shaun Wright Phillips from Chelsea (The News of the World) This is simply not going to happen, although it does at least give disillusioned City fans the hope of a push up the Premiership ladder with a new owner and manager coming in. 1/10

The Darren Bent saga goes on, with Newcastle now joining Spurs in the race for the Charlton hit-man’s signature (The Sunday Mirror). The longer this goes on the more likely it will become that he will be playing the Championship, especially when you consider the transfer fee demanded by the south London club would have bought Thierry Henry: 6/10 for a move to Newcastle, 9/10 Spurs, 3/10 staying at Charlton and 10/10 Charlton will reduce their asking price.

Sami Hyppia’s long awaited move to Newcastle from Liverpool is being delayed until Rafa Benitez can purchase cover for the Finnish international (Evening Chronicle). Expect this to be completed fairly soon as Rafa goes spending crazy in the next two weeks. 9/10

Fernando Torres continues to keep the rumourmongers' pencils sharp. The latest twist on this transfer saga involves Rafa offering Athletico Madrid Djibril Cisse as part of a deal - how this will help is beyond me. If Torres is going to move anywhere this summer, and he may just decide to stay at Madrid a little longer, then it will be to Anfield. 8/10 for Torres to move to Liverpool, and 1/10 that Cisse will in some way increase the chance of this move taking place.

David Healy seems likely to be saved from League One football as Wolves are lining up a bid to rescue him from Leeds United (Sunday Mirror). But the Northern Ireland striker may prefer to make a name for himself by scoring freely in the lower leagues where Leeds will no doubt romp to the League One title. 7/10.
