Arsenal are probably going through one of those periods of uncertainty that afflict most clubs from time to time with the debt of building a new stadium, lack of clarity on Stanley Kroenke's intentions, players questioning the hunger, and the future of the club in terms of trophies and uncertainty over Arsene Wenger's future.

Arsenal fans are questioning the club's intentions while their competitors are bolstering their squads. Fernando Torres has joined Liverpool, Carlos Tevez set to join Manchester United along with Owen Hargreaves and the two youngsters, Nani and Anderson from Portugal, Chelsea are getting a few smart Bosman deals along with Florent Malouda, and last but not the least, Spurs have splashed out on Darren Bent, Gareth Bale and Younes Kaboul.

If that isn't enough, we have William Gallas questioning the future of the club and Real Madrid eying Cesc  Fabregas. Fans also want to see new signings, although I'm not sure who would come to Arsenal with so much uncertainity around the club. This means that the manager's future should be a priority, and once that is settled perhaps we shall find less annoying interest from Real Madrid.

The next thing that needs to be done is to sell Gallas and Jose Antonio Reyes. When he first joined the club, as part of the Ashley Cole move to Chelsea, Gallas said it was an opportunity for him to help some of the younger players, but all we've heard are grumbles in the press and on the Internet. Fortunately, Reyes is hoping to turn his loan spell at Real into a permanent deal.

Looking at the Manchester United and Chelsea squads, the position where we trail really badly is the width.  We are absolutely average when compared to Cristiano Ronaldo, Arjen Robben and Joe Cole. Mind you,  Liverpool are also struggling with the same problem as they also lack width. So maybe a winger could do the trick for us, but Franck Ribery is now with Bayern Munich and Ryan Babel seems to be on his way to Liverpool.

So we may have to turn towards players like Amantino Mancini from AS Roma (how about a swap deal with
Gallas?), Alberto Zapater at Real Zaragoza, Ricardo Quaresma from FC Porto, Simao Sambrosa at Benfica or Valencia's David Silva. I have no clue, but who cares as long as Arsene knows.

Hopefully the coming weeks should produce some good news for the fans. Until then we need to show a bit of patience - and faith.
