You can understand where United are coming from but a club cannot decide where a player goes, they are not cattle or slaves! Whatever about Ferguson being annoyed at Heinze wanting to leave and stating outright he will not be joining us, all fair enough, we would be the same. However, claiming we are now getting our lawyers involved and questioning the legality of our aproach for the player is just bitter and pathetic, the rantings of an old man who won't let anyone else have his toys. Every club in Europe knows Heinze is for sale and these have all been faxed to that effect, Liverpool included. Despite what the 'buy me! buy me!' tabloids report, Liverpool have not decided to go legal in this instance in any way, shape or form. Heinze and his representatives have decided to get their lawyers involved. Rafa has stated this each time he has been asked and Liverpool are waiting to see the outcome. Didn't stop Fergie from spouting all his false nonsense. We should be contacting the FA for his comments

Ralf, i think you are talking sense, but at the same time we are being treated pretty badly by Heinze in the first place, but if he wants to go then so be it.
by simon on July 25, 2007
Fergie is running scared of giving liverpool any advantage in next years title race, benetez knows exactly what he is doing , win or lose the signature of heinze he has well and truly rattled fergies cage
by magnumopus on July 25, 2007
Think mate... who sent a letter to whom stating they are free to leave? How is Heinze treating Man U badly? If Man U didn't treat players as slaves then perhaps there would not be any bad feelings by anybody, just wishes for each other to do well in their future endeavours...

1. Heinze himself has actually said he would be happy to remain at Old Trafford as long as he was guarenteed a run in the team. 2. There are no quotes from him directly saying he wants to join Liverpool. His agent is stirring things up as he wants a nice fee. 3. Heinze can no longer buy himself out of his contract, there is a window of about a month I think and that passed 2 months ago. 4. No court of law in England will rip up a contract for a letter, if United don't want to sell him they can't be forced to. 5. Why shouldn't we let him "rot in the reserves" rather than improve your team? Your still about 3 "Top class" players away from challenging from the title, why would we help you in that?!
what a cheek scousers cant get enough quality players so they try and take ours Fergie will never let it happen what he says goes in football, Heinze will not play for utd again he will be shipped out of harms way

So Liverpool are trying to buy a player whom Manchester United no longer wants...for all this wrangle about who's right or who's wrong, the fundamental question is: Is Heinze worth it anyway?? I'll be the first to admit that he was a HUGE hit when he first came to OT. I'll even say that, at one time, he was one of the best fullbacks in Europe...but things have changed. He looked out of sorts in many a game last season...his attemped clearances against Milan looked pathetic at times! Unfortunately he hasnt been the same player since his injury. I'd also like to know how is it that Liv can force a d4eal through. Heinze can buy out his contract ONLY IF UNITED WANTS TO SELL. Or am i being mistaken here? Normally, if u want to buy my car, u can get it ONLY IF I WANNA SELL...are the rules the same for footballers?

I do not blame Gabby. SAF is forcing him out as he has done to so many other great players. Beckham, Stam and RVN come to mind. The Glazers must really let him go and allow Quieroz to step in. I am really afraid Liverpool will embarrass us in the Premiership this season.
by C. Ronaldo Nr. 1 on July 25, 2007
I think that manchester united should let Heinze go, let him play for the "great" liverpool, who never wins anything.. i would love to see C. Ronaldo give Heinze a lesson, when he are going to make some nice tricks against him and liverpool.. and all of those who are telling Fergie to shut up.. they are out of there mind, Fergie is a relaxed but fair man, he will let him go, no doubt about it. Benitez is a shame to football, with his boring type of football. liverpool is a team of never ending shame and destruktive football!
by Marquiz on July 25, 2007
Heinze has never ever stated he wanted to leave. All these are his agent's doing. Although I wouldn't be too worried if he went to Liverpool. I am sure Ronaldo can skin him alive if he does play against us
by Degs on July 25, 2007
"C. Ronaldo Nr. 1 writes" let him play for the "great" liverpool, who never wins anything.. ...More European Cup trophies than Man Utd, more league championships, more League Cup wins. Please come back when you learn about history, and grammar.

You got to be kidding to mention that Liverpool will be competing for the title. As usual this year's title race will be between Chelski & MANU. Even if pool buy a whole NEW squad, you WON'T BE ABLE compete with Chelski & MANU.
Since you have mentioned those "Old success" (barring your lucky win in 2005), please be kind to tell us how many "premiership" trophies has liverpool won? And how long is it since your "great team", last won a domestic title? You crazy kopsters don't learn that liverpool got finished way back in 1990. You are just chasing your past & will always be chasing your past. Atleast Blackburn has a premier league title!!!

You call Istanbul a luck, but when you analyse how United won their trophies (including last season's premiership and the only champions league fergie has managed to win during almost 21 years at helm), I would call that luck as well. Shit also fails to notice that SAF won nothing in his first 4 years at helm. So was he finished as well? He was going to be sacked if I'm not mistaken. But lady luck wanted him to stay to continue to make us laugh.
Even if we buy a whole new squad we will not be able to compete with you? That's not entirely true now, is it? Oh dear, what a shoolyard like insult to use. Still, I must commend you on your spelling. Quite impressive for a 10 year old. 'Don't learn that Liverpool got finished'??? Genius! Clearly so intelligent you are inventing your own language
by Obi on July 25, 2007
Thank you for that wise and well thought out comment you are a credit to Man Utd fans everywhere C. Ronaldo Nr. 1. Clearly Liv NEVER win anything...(Most successful club in Britain)... At least the other Man Utd fans had some sort of balanced view instead of the tripe you're coming out with. Benitez a shame to football...clearly you a 10 yr old!

Are you even a Man Utd fan? Because you don't sound like one. You sound like an idiot in fact. Since when have SAF's decisions actually gurt our club. May I remind you we've just won the Premiership. You want Queiroz to step in? After the debacle at R. Madrid? Even though he prefers a defensive style of play? What a fool.
Please do not get personal with your remarks. I just happen to be a Man U fan with a different viewpoint than you. SAF has been great for us. But it is time for him to move on. His abrasive style of management is not suited to football in this era. And he is an old man. He should stick to playing with his studs. SAF may have just won us the premiership but that was more down to our rivals imploding than any great managerial abilities. It was a fluke. Liverpool and Arsenal were just fannying about. Chelsea were messing about with Ballack and Shevchenko. Next season will be different. Arsenal will still be no hopers. That's all that will stay the same. Chelsea will revert to their successful style of their first 2 Mourinho seasons. Liverpool have the best midfield in the Prem and they have bought an excellent striker in Torres to solve their scoring problems. What did we do? We buy Hargreaves. So a midfield duo of Michael and Owen? Who will do Schole's job. Will Scholes be back to his best when he returns
Will Ronaldo be able to maintain his performance from last season? Can Anderson and Nani adapt to the Premiership quickly enough? I think next season will be disastrous for us. SAF has lost direction. We should get rid of him before it is too late. In his senility, he will take this great club down with him. We must say NEVER and NEVER again must we be destroyed by the actions of a man who has been so intoxicated with power that he loses all sense of propriety. Join me and say NEVER!!!

Well i think i've been learning about the english style since i started to visit these forums. Y is it that all sensible football debates must end in trading insults and personal remarks??!! Can anyone be an idiot just coz he has a different opinion?? i'd think not. its funny how much intolerence is present in a country that presents itself as a champion of fairness and tolerence. anyway to return to the debate, i think Liverpool can have heinze if they really really wish...coz, at 29, he isn't getting any younger and he is no longer the player he used to be...frankly i think riise is slightly better. best regards

maybe u r right. if gabby doesnt think he is good enuff to fight evra for a first team place then he should go to a team where whiners who doesnt have the bottle to fight can get to play. anyway the real reason i think he wants to leave is that he is probably scared that the academy kids could get picked head of him. whats wrong in giving a hand me down to club that are trying to "keep up with the joneses"
