No he's not worth 8m, but then again what players are worth their current market value, and how do you assess any players value?, me personally I sub divide the price by 10, and evaluate accordingly, so in my mind Taylor's 800k, and Bent 1.65m, thats more like it!

Yes i would want Taylor and Gudjohnsen, but at a push i would have to go for Matty Taylor i think he would be a great addition to our team

Like you comments about Ian 'legend' Wright, lets hope he can camp out, i would love to see SWP in an Arsenal shirt, even a Spurs shirt would be better than Chelsea!

Villa have already taken Carson on loan for the season...
by Franny Jeffers on August 10, 2007
Should stay at Pompey. He fits into the team well and will go places in the future but not right now.

Be reasonable, Carson is prem proven and this Scottish lad has only played in the weak SPL. Carson is at least a £10m keeper. Good keepers are few and far between these days, and so are worth more and more money.

Have you seen Gordon play? He looks quality! If Gordon went for 9 mil, Carson should be worth around 5
Villa have already taken Carson on loan for the season...
Where as it is very likely Carson will join Villa, as of yet that is not confirmed, not even on the Aston Villa website ,where it is still yet to be confirmed. Thanks for checking your facts

Ian Wright should keep his nose out. If SWeeP had stayed at City he would be a fixture in the England set-up, instead of being a bench-blisters specialist. OK, he got a Premiership winners medal at Chelsea, but what did he contribute over the season, Not much.

As much as I loved the Schmeichel basher its a bit rich him now saying that he's tried to get SWP into Arsene's thoughts when he bigged up Chelsea and took their roubles when his wee little'n left City. He should have thought about speaking to Wenger about him then.

SWP choose chelsea over Arsenal as i can remember. Bad decision. since then, we ve got Hleb and walcott.
by Cynic on August 10, 2007
Surely Benitez is deliberately pricing Carson out of a permanent move ...?
by Brapasaurus on August 10, 2007
Taylor wd be an good signing for Spurs but £8M is way too much, maybe we cd get for £6m - hope we can reach an agreement with portsmouth.

THE GUY IS A SPURS MAN THROUGH AND THROUGH AND MUST COME TO THE LANE 5.5 / 6 MIL PLUS ANOTHER FROM SPURS .

I really do admire how loyal Ian Wright is still to the arsenal cause, what has happened to players like him who don't just listen to money, but who are dedicated players as well as supporters! The last season has really taken the traditional shine off the premiership, what with all the foreign inflow of players and so many what we thought were dedicated players leaving clubs for more money and choosing not to speak with their football but with their mouths!

Who is this Mark Carson you're going on about? Maybe you mean Scott?
by peter griffin on August 10, 2007
thank you some one 4 pointing that out its SCOTT not MARK and he is no way worth 12 and 10 is pushing it i would say 8.5
by Nurld on August 10, 2007
'Actually Mark, Carson is all...' Mark is the author. Thrown by a missing comma.

Matty taylors price tag has been set delibratly high for te same reason that scott carsons has been set high. We dont want to sell at all, and we dont want to upset the playor, so by setting a high value, it shows we respect the playor, and his views, but in the end, get to keep them. As for top quality keepers, this time last year, david james left man city for a tiny price. Since, he has been the number one keeper in the premiership (top of the actim stats). good luck everyone for next season. PUP
