This weekend's fixtures are set to test a lot of sides and prove whether their ambitions for the season are realistic. Firstly, there is the Liverpool v Chelsea fixture at Anfield. Liverpool will be looking to send a message to the rest of the Premier League with a win that would boost their already-high confidence.

However, Chelsea have looked back to normal with two wins from two games. This will be the first real test for Jose Mourinho's men as Anfield is never an easy place to go. I think it will be a tightly-contested affair, probably ending in a draw. Having said that, I'm sure the Scousers and Chelsea fans will disagree and back their sides to take all three points.

Aston Villa must be careful against Newcastle at St James' Park as they are in danger of taking no points from their opening two fixtures. However, Sam Allardyce's men will be confident of getting a result after winning comfortably at Bolton with Obafemi Martins on fire. I think Newcastle will win this one with their firepower up front looking good at the moment. But Villa have a decent record up there in recent years and will want to continue the trend.

Spurs... I had to get there eventually! Their game against Derby is a must-win clash for Martin Jol's men. With the poor level of performance shown against Everton and Sunderland still haunting Tottenham, this could be the ideal time for Derby to pick up a point at WHL with the crowd ready to turn. However, I expect the Spurs fans to be in full voice to pull the players through this one. I say a Tottenham win but it won't be straightforward.Gary Teale is in good form for Derby and they looked decent in their opening game.

West Ham are a side who will also be looking to ease pressure as they seek a victory at Birmingham. I must say I was very impressed with Steve Steve Bruce's attack-minded side against Chelsea as they didn't just play for the point, as some teams would. I expect them to take the game to West Ham, who really must improve after their opening-day loss to Manchester City. I'm sitting on the fence and saying draw. However, the result going either way would not surprise me.

The Manchester derby will also prove to be a tight affair as Manchester United seek their first win of the season. Manchester City will certainly take the game to the Champions and go for all three points. There is a new confidence at Eastlands and a home win would not surprise me. I'm saying City to win.

Bolton are my tip for relegation this season after losses at Fulham and at home to Newcastle - and they did not look strong in either game. Travelling to Portsmouth will not help them. Pompey could have beaten Manchester United in midweek and I fully expect a comfortable three points in his game.

Fulham have started well and look better than last year. Yakubu will not be in the squad for the Middlesbrough game as he is rumoured to be moving back to Portsmouth. However, Mido will be available so there is still decent firepower there. Boro have never convinced me away from home and I think Fulham will come away from this one with the three points.

Everton, having beaten an under-performing yet under-strength Tottenham side in midweek, look good for their table-topping place. Mikel Arteta is on top form and they look good to take the points at Reading - hopefully with Andy Johnson on the scoresheet to help my dream team out. The Royals are always good at home and will be hoping to take at least a point from this one but personally I don't think they can do it.

Wigan, who entertain Sunderland, have been good in their opening fixtures. A draw would not surprise me in this one but I expect the Latics to take the points in this one as they are playing with confidence. Should be a tightly-contested affair with plenty of chances throughout the game.

Blackburn play Arsenal at Ewood Park in what will be an interesting encounter. Rovers look a good outfit again this year as they are organised and have good quality up front and in the wide areas. Arsenal left it late to beat Fulham and showed good character to do so. The game will be tight but I think Blackburn will win this one. I was tempted to say draw but I don't want to sit on the fence and look forward to the opinions of the Gooners coming my way!

Let me know your opinions and we will see who is right at the weekend. Either way it promises to be a good weekend of Premier football.
