Thanks for trying to dissect the media circus around poor old Jol, all Spurs fans should protest against the board!
by Frank on August 21, 2007
There is no way Spurs would opt for Redknapp, not even Levy is that stupid!
by Matt on August 21, 2007
Come on, Redknapp - how's he going to improve on big Martin. Not sure whether this is a media witch hunt on Spurs, this may have been started by a gooner...remember they had their worries that Spurs would challenge them for the Champs League spot this year.

Thanks Spurs for giving West Ham fans a break from headlining the back pages

Always nice to see the boat rocking at shitehart lane. You should have millwalls song "no one likes us"
by tommytwosheds on August 21, 2007
Sorry, but on sunday i will be displaying a placard with "leave Jol alone" on it. The spurs fans need to stand up and support the person who is by far our best manager for 15 years. Get rid of him, no way. Change the board? If its going to unsettle us, then YES!!!
by Upton Park on August 21, 2007
any chance we can get rid of curbs and snatch Jol if this happens ... i think this will be a major error if the spuds sack him
by Neil on August 21, 2007
Marcelo Lippi was linked with the Spurs job before Santini & Jol and respectfully declined. Redknapp won't leave Pompey, and the buy out clause of £350,000 in Ramos's contract expired last season. The Spurs Board need to make a statement to the press to stop these insane rumours that are gathering frightening momentum.Jol must stay!

What a farce! We were supposed to be focused and trying to get into the top four, poking fun at Arsenal's boardroom problems? Now who's laughing as usual! Could part of this fanning of the flames by the Man U supporting red-top media be a final attempt to unsettle and prise Berbatov away from Spurs before the transfer deadline. They all obviously want him to go there. This is all bad for football IMO!

Jol would do a fantastic job at the hammers if spurs were stupid enough to sack him!
any chance we can get rid of curbs and snatch Jol if this happens ... i think this will be a major error if the spuds sack him
we'll have him, thanks very much! I'm surprised by all this negative attention upon Martin 'Uncle Fester' Jol. Personally, I think he's done (and is doing) a great job at Tottenham. I think this is just another example of the media whores piling in on a nothing story.
There's a little job called being Holland manager that I think Jol might choose over the spammers!

The Sun and Mirror need their names changed, they can't be called "NEWS"papers can they? How about this for a new strapline "The Sun/Mirror - we'll print any old cr*p" And what happens if we beat UTD at the weekend, headline the day after something along the lines of "Keane to replace Fergie" Long live king Jol!!!
P.S. I'm very happy with Curbs though, thanks very much.

This story reminds me a bit of Chelski getting rid of Ranieri to make room for the Mourinho. Although Ranieri hadn't done a bad job, Chelski didn't see him as the man to take them to the next level, and acted ruthlessly to replace him with a man with proven pedigree at that level. So, perhaps Spurs think Jol has reached his 'ceiling' and they are looking to move onwards and upwards without him. Personally, I doubt it, because if that had been the case, they would probably have binned Jol at the end of last season, to give the new guy time to bring in his own players and staff before the new campaign.
Well, if THFC are stupid enough to sack him, he's got to be better than McLaren. We could start a chinese whisper for the sun and mirror.

Had enough of this Rubbish now! Leave Jol alone and let him do what he is good at..... HIS JOB! The people who really matter the Spurs fans are behind him! The so called board can take a run and jump! They don't know when they are onto a good thing! the other clubs in the Premiership are laughing there socks off! If we fail now, it will be down to all this unease! Levy needs to come out now and end all this rubbish and let Martin and the boys get on with job they are good at.....That is talking with there feet! COME ON YOU SPURS!!!!!
by Ted on August 21, 2007
Is Martin being 'poached' by the Dutch FA? Are the board looking at covering the loss? Having spent 40M assembling a team it would be madness to then sack the manager before they have even settled the new players.
let the chaiman come out the closet and give his manager the dreaded vote of confidence.. ha ha

who thinks we SHOULD get rid of Jol. He has hit the plateau and simply doesnt have the tactical nouse to outsmart the top four managers, its as simple as that. Ramos tactically destroyed us at home last season, he has won 5 trophies in 15 months and clearly wants to come to us. Having said this, Jol does not deserve the shit he's getting - he has been fantastic for us, but i feel its time we start looking at managers with a CV of achievment, not ambition. TT

More utter bollocks from the sun...Can't they come up with something a bit more likely, maybe like "the Sun's sports editor is a gooner shock"..
by Shel on August 21, 2007
I find it hard the Jol wants to sell Berbatov as apparently he was quoted as the reason the sold Mido was "Berbatov"

Newspapers are a out dated form, news is now instant, and what you read is mostly old news before its even printed.Where and when did LEVY and Ramos meet?, where and when did Jol and Comolli fall out?,When and where did Jol and Levy fall out, as it before spending 40 million or after.Berba and Jol have no problem, who say so..Berbas agent the same one who said he was staying amidst all the red top speculation,he stayed. Unfortunately Levy has to put the RUMOURS to bed once and for all.If they prove to unfounded, please in future dont buy these rags, they did Englands world cup so much damage last summer and now seem hell bent on destroying our ambitions...As I said before, wouldnt put past the Gooners to be behind this, its right up their street, underhand, cheating snides that they are, cause their in the mire if we get that 4th spot!
by Peter on August 21, 2007
I think Warnock is the man who can take Spurs to the promise land - i think it would be a great match
Yes, its true. The Sun and their contemporaries print 90 per cent nonsense, but people like reading about shit whether its true or not, so these hacks will continue spouting all this crapola all over the back..and front pages. The answer is... Read a book, take up golf, join a muslim fundamentalist group....anything, just don't buy a paper.

with BAC's comments and TT's also. Jol has done a very good at Spurs indeed, but I dont think hes the man to push on to the next level once again, he gave us the lift from mid table to Europe, now we need from Europe to Trophy winners. I think Ramos could be the man to sort out the problems, and bring everyone together in the board, himself, the players and the fans. And as for Seville, I guess they have a President, as do all Spanish clubs right? He would easily cope with Comolli's insights, but I think Ramos would play a bigger part in the signings than Comolli. And BAC to your comment about how we should have done it during the summer and let a new manager bring in his own staff, players etc and settle the team; I believe its all very true, why didnt we do so? Probably because the team and board believed he could take us to greater heights. I for one has always believed hes brilliant, he'd get a job easy if we were to part with him, but I never thought he'd be the man we'd win the title with.
