Haven't read the article yet but have to comment on the title. Reyes, while a very talaneted player will NEVER be considered an Arsenal legend.

Your entitled to your opinion but i think this is a fair load of bollocks. Pires never looked like he would be half the player he was in his last season at Highbury. Calling Reyes an Arsenal legend is insulting to even Ashley Cole. That side were a brilliant side and no manager in the world could adequately replace players like Vieira, Henry, Ljunberg and Bergkamp like for like and with ready made players. So Wenger hasnt tried to do that. He has created a different style of side with the same philosophy of football, but as the 'invincibles' were, this side is slowly growing into a team with real figth, spirit and sense of togetherness. You cannot get that feeling of togetherness and unified spirit when Henry is whining, Ljunberg is hanging around as a shadow of his former self and Reyes is angling for a move to anywhere in Spain. Also these players feeling of 'team' and belonging wasnt to Arsenal like Adams but to that specific group of players. That is what Wenger is doing again with this side, making them

Mr Singh, it is tiring to the minds of many Gooners that such subject was brought up again. People age. We haven't the technology to prevent aging yet. Facelift, liposuction yes but not the performance of super athletes. Besides to honour this super players we had is to let them enjoy a new environment & a bigger paycheck in A LESS DAMAGING LEAGUE, other than the EPL. errr..with the exception of Ljungberg... Moreover we need to move on, not dwell in the past..... Otherwise we end up like our neighbours in WHL, who more often than not dishing out their proud history since WWII. Look forward man, it ain't that bad. Just rejoice that we had the opportunity to witness the magic of Henry, Bergkamp, Pires, Ljungberg, Overmars, Viera, Tony, Dixon, Keown, Wright...etc...

Wenger is building a new team. You criticise players for not being as good as the past. Well Denilson has played 20 game, eduardo 1 game and diaby 20 games. So there not as good as viera and henry? give them sometime for christ sakes. Even henry took 8 ganmes 2 score. As 4 selling the players. Cole wanted 2 leave as he loves rubles. Henry left cos his wife thought he was scoring in other boxes. reyes needed to suckle on his mums nipples. Pires wouldn't accept a 1 yr contract. freddie was inj MORE than rosicky. christ mate, crap argument. Wenger is building a new team and u criticise him. as hansen said 'u can't win anything with kids'.

henry, vieira, pires are all arsenal legends but reyes is not even in their league infact he's not even close to it! the only good thing to come out of the reyes deal was the loan swap for baptista which never really worked out as planned either!!! so explain this reyes legend story!!!!!

Those days are gone, the Gifted one is building a new empire ,with new stars, if you want silverware with no breaks sod off down to Chelski.

1. Would Arsenal be better this year had it retained these players and not acquired/developed all the players they have? 2. What about next year? You don't seem to understand that football is ever changing, as are players' bodies. Perhaps Arsenal would be coming off three straight years of silver -- that's your main point -- and could put up with a year or two of rebuilding going forward -- but no one really believes that.

yes, I have faith in Arsene, he is building an new and young team! Have you forgotten how all these legends started? They all were trained under the wing of Wenger, they were young, and they were just starting their career. This team Arsene is molding right now is a young, which means they will be the team of the future. I know and I trust that Wenger has chosen right. If you have forgotten as well, no one stays as young, built, and agile as they are when they were in their 20s, so we should trust this new team. GO GUNNERS!

When i wrote the article, i did mention the headline as above. It was given by sportingo guys.I neevr mentioned Reyes in the same breath as viera etc. Those guys were legends. This guy though talented did not have the mental toughness required. anyway lovely to see the comments, i just hope that we will see creativity flowing again.

yea we havent been dominant like when the players you mentioned were playing for us, but think about it, after the 2004 undefeated season we win the FA Cup in 2005 and nearly won the Champions League Final in 2006. We improved a lot last season and now theres definitely have a great chance for the title. Forget all this 4th place nonsence, the way this team ae playing (despite all the injuries), they can match the invincibles and more.
