AC Milan have once again failed to win a Serie A match this season after drawing 1-1 to Parma. Their first and only victory came on the opening day of the campaign where they showed Genoa what it's like to play in the top league by beating them 3-0.

After that impressive win, many where expecting The Rossoneri to make a run for the Scudetto but all that early optimism was washed away after they claimed just three points out of a possible nine – not acceptable for the European Champions. The Serie A challenge is already faltering, while in the Champions League they could only manage a narrow win at home to Benfica.

The beginning of last season saw Milan in the same situation – they were drawing games they should have  won, and they lost unnecessary games. At least they are still unbeaten but it is early days and, with a tough game in Palermo next week, Milan definitely need to sort out their problems.

‘Two players in particular seem to be struggling – goalkeeper Dida and striker Alberto Gilardino. Both were booed by their own fans against Benfica.’

Two players in particular seem to be struggling – goalkeeper Dida and striker Alberto Gilardino. Both were booed by their own fans against Benfica. Dida, has made some really bad howlers over the past few weeks that saw Milan concede soft goals while Gila has been misfiring due to lack of confidence.

The defence has been leakier than usual. With skipper Paolo Maldini out, a lot of the players seem to be unsure how to fill his shoes. Kakha Kaladze hasn't been his usual solid self, while Daniele Bonera has only stepped in for one game, his first for some time.

The midfield is still the same but when one of the starting players is taken out they seem to be a bit lost. Kaka hasn't been able to find as much space as he had last season while he is still struggling with his knee problem.

Up front is a huge problem, with Milan creating many chances but not being able to put them away. In the league they have scored six goals and conceded three. The forwards are yet to score a goal in Serie A, and it looks like they seem to be waiting more for Ronaldo's return than scoring.

A striker crisis in once again happening, and it just goes to show that Milan should have bought another forward this summer. Alexandre Pato is not eligible to play in Serie A until January while Ronaldo is way too injury prone to leave it all on him.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti needs to figure out the problems now as it is a long campaign, with too many trophies at stake for The Rossoneri. Maldini wanted his fans back singing at the San Siro and he got his wish, but now Milan must give the fans their wish.... by winning some games.
