Firstly I would like to point out that today’s rumours are solely gleaned from chatrooms and blogs predicting a mass Chelsea from Stamford Bridge. It seems people are guessing (or should that be hoping?) that the sum parts of the two-time title-winning side may be heading to pastures new.

Didier Drogba was considered a flop when he first appeared on the scene - and an expensive flop at that. However, things have changed. The former Marseille player has come a long way and is now one of the hottest properties on the market. Scoring goals for fun, but also falling down like a tree just as often, the Ivorian is a target for all and sundry - if you believe the gossip, that is. Arsenal are said to be interested, according to some eagle-eyed Gunners who seem to know more about the goings on at the Emirates. I say this is unlikely, to say the least.

Arsenal probably could do with another striker, but as Emmanuel Adebayor and Robin van Persie have already demonstrated this season, they only need another squad player should injuries mount up and also to cover African Nations Cup duty. I think it is extremely likely that 29-year-old Drogba will leave Chelsea. Jose Mourinho’s influence has brought the best out of him.

'Now that the Special One has left, I feel many will follow him out of the door'

However, now that the Special One has left, I feel many will follow him out of the door.

Imagine John Terry and Jamie Carragher at the centre of the Liverpool defence? Well, that’s something many Anfield fans have been discussing in recent days. Rafa Benitez need another defender - it is something they have been calling for a while on message boards devoted to the manager and his squad. Would Terry go to another side in the Premier League? That’s a good question. I think it's unlikely, but if he would do such a thing, then why not Liverpool?

Sure, the England man would cost a small fortune (or even a large one), but he would be worth every penny and would make Liverpool’s backline as strong as any in the world. Are these ideas simple inventions of over-imaginative fans or could this become a reality?

Joe Cole never gets a bad reception when he returns to Upton Park, which is more than can be said for the likes of Frank Lampard (on to him later) and Paul Ince. The pint-sized creative midfielder has apparently appeared on the Spurs radar in recent weeks, a move that I find highly unlikely. Would it be as unlikely for the former West Ham hero to return to the Boleyn and the charms of Green Street? I think it's not a bridge too far.

The Hammers have the financial clout to lead many to believe they are heading in the right direction and maybe Mr. Cole would fancy helping his boyhood club make the grade in the Premier League.

Lampard, as mentioned earlier, is unlikely to move back to Upton Park, but is he likely to move elsewhere in London? That is, of course, only if he chooses to make a statement to Roman Abramovich by leaving Chelsea.

Would Tottenham welcome him to their midfield - a midfield that doesn’t exactly provide huge numbers of goals. Frank gets them in bucket-loads, albeit many are deflected long-range efforts and scuffed penalties (joke). Some Spurs fans have made the suggestion that he could in some parallel universe end up at White Hart Lane, where presumably he is as hated as he is in east London. Anyway, I think it's more than likely he will flee England altogether and make that much-talked-about move to Barcelona a reality.
