It's the truth! Liverpool fans won't ever admit to it, but Arsenal's midfield sensation, Cesc Fabregas, is already better than Steven Gerrard ever was and he is still only 20 years old.

There was a time when I was in awe of the England midfield genius, and even though he didn't perform his magic in a Gunners shirt I could readily appreciate just how much of a footballing god he was, and still is.

But now it's the time of Arsenal's No. 4 to rule the Premier League roost. He is quite simply the hottest prospect on the planet, the player who has it all. The guy  we nabbed from the Nou Camp is more or less the finished article, and as a fan I can't wait to see what he will do for our triumphant side. Along with Arsene's other young talents, Cesc and Co. look capable to winning the lot, at least a good two or three years earlier than the most ardent Gunners fan could have hoped for.

'For a player just barely out of his teens to have racked up over 150 top-notch appearances is frankly incredible'

Don't get me wrong, Anfield's powerhouse is world class and clearly one of the best players ever to have graced a football pitch. His turn of pace and battling running is a joy to watch. He even managed a few of these runs just yesterday against Estonia. He also has great vision and a tremendous knack of scoring spectacular goals at crucial moments. When he scored that goal against Olympiakos I was lost for words.

But the case for Cesc Fabregas grows day on day. His goal scoring, or lack thereof, was one issue I had with the midfield maestro. He only managed two in the Premier League last season but he is making up for lost time now, having scored six in all competitions in just 12 matches. That's a proud record even for a striker.

For a player just barely out of his teens to have racked up over 150 top-notch appearances is frankly incredible. At the same age, the Whiston wonder had barely won his first international cap and had figured in less than 50 matches for the Reds. Of course it would be premature to get too carried away with just how good Fabregas is,  but as long as his agent doesn't screw us over, I am sure he will be entertaining the Emirates faithful for a good few years to come.
